Es ist vorgeschlagen worden, zum Pressen erhabener Buchstaben Stempel zu verwenden, die am unteren Ende hohlkegelförmig ausgebildet sind und am Boden des Hohlraumes das Schriftzeichen tragen. Zum Eindrücken derartiger Stempel in die übliche ebene Metallplatte ist aber ein erheblicher Kraftaufwand erforderlich, der um so größer sein muß, je mehr die Schnittkanten der Typen abgenutzt werden, was bei dem Eindrücken in das harte Metall natürlich sehr schnell eintritt. Um diesen Übelstand zu vermeiden, wird gemäß der Erfindung die Druckplatte mit Zeilenleisten von keilförmigem Querschnitt oder mit einzelnen kegelstumpfförmigen Erhöhungen versehen. Beim Aufprägen der Schriftzeichen auf eine solche Druckplatte ergibt sich noch der Vorteil, daß jedes Zeichen scharf erhalten wird, und daß sämtliche Zeichen in einer Ebene liegen, während beim Eindrücken der Hohltypen in die üblichen Druckplatten mit geschlossener Prägefläche Verbeulungen und Auftreibungen nicht zu vermeiden sind, da das durch die Kanten des Prägestempels aus der Platte herausgeschnittene Metall sich nicht so zusammenpressen läßt, daß es genau in den Hohlraum des Stempels paßt.It has been proposed to use stamps for pressing raised letters, which are hollow cone-shaped at the lower end and at the bottom of the cavity bear the character.
