The invention relates to a support arrangement for separating ' walls or room dividers.

The base support of the invention utilizes a pair of specially configured support brackets (Pig. 3) attached to the bottom of a partition near the side edges (22 (side edges 22 in Pig. I). A representative partition arrangement according to the invention is shown in FIG 1 where a plurality of panels 10 are arranged in a divider configuration, a number of building blocks or modular components such as desks 30, a rule 32, shelves 34, and the like are positioned on panels 10 and are in place held by a conventional hook-like bracket 36. An outwardly facing horizontal stabilizing foot 40 may be provided as desired to prevent the panels or walls from tilting. A vertical hanger strip 42 passes through the interior of the panel adjacent the side edges and includes a plurality of spaced apart slots 44 which are adapted to receive hanger devices provided on shelf brackets 36 and foot 40. The construction of the fastening strips and the hangers is essentially of conventional type and will therefore only be described briefly for an understanding of the invention. The hanger 46 is attached to the rear wall of the foot 40. The hanger 46 comprises a plurality of rearwardly extending hook-like elements 47 which hook upwards and not downwards as in shelf hangers.
