Abstract

A support device to support a stringed instrument of the bowed type e.g. viola, violin etc. against the chest and shoulder of the player has two grips (3) to clamp to the sounding box of the instrument which may be adjusted to position to accommodate different rigid instruments and which are mounted on an elastic type connection piece (1). Two adjustable shoulder and chest pads (5) are provided to position the support device comfortably against chest and shoulder of instrumentalist. The two separated fixing points, i.e. plates, provide the greatest possible resonance throughout the elastic bow of the instrument.

Description

Description of the support for string instruments, violin, viola for registration from 13.9.1974 The invention is based on the fact that the sound body by the separate, elastically connected 2 support points on the chest and shoulder, compared to the previous one rigid support, its full resonance is retained and that thanks to the adjustability of these support points Depending on the requirements for the chest and shoulder, the rest of the seat exists.
