Abstract

Hot-sprayed, gliding contact, protective coating for the surfaces of components moving at high relative velocity towards each other, esp. rotors and/or housing or similar parts of turbines or turbo-compressors, where the protective coating consists of a composite material made from a hot-sprayed metal and a solid lubricant. The novelty is that the solid lubricant consists of a metal salt which is insol. in water, or a mixt. of at least two different metal slats of this type. The metal salts are pref. chosen from the fluorides, borates or phosphates of one of the metals: Li, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Al, Zn or Mn, esp. CaF2 used with hot-sprayed magnesium or aluminium; or with other metals for higher temps. To prevent seizure, e.g. of rotor blades in a housing.
