Es wird zunächst in bekannter Weise durch Vermischen von Harz mit wäßriger Soda eine
Harzleimlösung hergestellt. Ferner wird eine entsprechende Menge von Horn in Soda gelöst,
mit roher Sulntzellstoffablauge versetzt und diese Flüssigkeit durch Zusatz von Salzsäure
bis zur schwach sauren Reaktion gefällt. Man erhitzt das Gemisch, läßt danach absitzen
und reinigt den von der Lösung getrennten Niederschlag durch mehrmaliges Auswaschen
mit kaltem, schwachsaurem Wasser. Hierauf löst man ihn wieder durch Zusatz geringer
Mengen (etwa 1 Prozent) borsauren Natriums
oder anderer borsaurer Verbindungen und erhält durch Vermischen dieser Lösung mit der
zuerst hergestellten Harzseifelösung eine dicke, hellbraun gefärbte Emulsion, die, in viel Wasser
gelöst, mit Alaun einen rein weißen, weil eisenfreien oder fast eisenfreien Niederschlag gibt.
Die erhaltene Emulsion läßt sich durch Trocknen in ganz dünnen Schichten in eine durchsichtige
