Sicherheitsverschlüsse für Briefumschläge sind in verschiedenen Formen bekannt. Dieselben haben einerseits den Nachteil, daß sie zu teuer im Gebrauch und zu umständlich an dem Briefumschlag anzubringen sind, andererseits zeigen sie dem Empfänger nicht . mit vollkommener Sicherheit, ob der Brief von unbefugter Hand geöffnet worden ist oder nicht.Security closures for envelopes are known in various forms. Der eine Teil des^Verschlusses" wird gebildet durch zwei ungleich große, kreisrunde, zusammenhängende Scheiben α und δ, von welchen die kleinere, b, an der der Scheibe α gegenüberliegenden Stelle eine kleine Zunge c trägt. Der andere Teil ist ein Ring d, dessen öffnung e kleiner ist als Scheibe b. Beide Teile sind auf einer Seite gummiert. Die Anbringung des Verschlusses geschieht auf folgende Weise:The closure is attached in the following way:

Darauf wird der Deckel f niedergedrückt und die Scheibe b durch den Schlitz k¹ durchgesteckt, worauf der Deckel f ebenfalls auf die Scheibe α aufgeklebt wird (Fig. 6). Nunmehr wird der Ring d auseinandergezogen, wodurch die Öffnung β größer und ein Durchstecken der Scheibe b ermöglicht wird. Nachdem der Ring d über Scheibe b übergeführt ist, werden die gummierten Flächen befeuchtet, darauf der obere Teil von Ring d mittels Zunge c an Scheibe b aufgeklebt (Fig. 7) und der Ring d mit der Scheibe b auf den Briefumschlag aufgedrückt (Fig. 8).Disk b is passed from the inside through slot k of the envelope, in such a way that the rubberized surface of disk α is facing up.
