Abstract
Description
Process for processing the waste water treatment Hair mud.
(Zusatz zu Patentanmeldung P 22 14 756.4). (Addition to patent application P 22 14 756.4).
The invention relates to a method for processing the sewage sludge from urban sewage treatment plants. The method is characterized in that the sewage sludge Hydrated lime added to a pH of at least 11.0 and derived from the one obtained calcareous precipitated material, the clear water is separated.
It is well known that urban wastewater mainly contains runoffs of households and non-industrial establishments such as hospitals, slaughterhouses etc. and - depending on local conditions - to varying degrees the Processes in industrial and craft businesses. In the case of the so-called mixed drainage or that arising on the built-up or paved areas Amount of rainwater, which has a more or less large proportion of mineral Components, e.g. sand, discharges into the wastewater. As a rule, this is the latter mineral content in modern sewage treatment plants but before any further clarification in so-called. Separated and removed sand traps. So if one disregards this part, so the impurities that are transported in the wastewater predominantly exist from organic matter that comes from the human habitat.
With the learning process in use today, for deposition this predominantly organic pollution from the vehicle used as a means of transport button either just settling basins or, increasingly, biological processes applied, in which latter one strives, as large a proportion of the pollutants as possible from the dissolved or colloidal-dispersed state through bacterial activity in to convert the form of settable flakes.
The sludge from the mechanical settling basins and - if a biological one Clarification stage is in place - the sludge from the downstream settling basin is very high very watery (> 95 <0) and difficult to drain. In rare cases it is distributed over agricultural land; as a rule, however, it will be in large containers digested and mineralized by anaerobic methane fermentation. Through this a large part of the organic matter in sewage sludge becomes methane and carbonic acid reduced. Therefore, the useful value of the strongly dehydrated residue is only low.
This method has a number of disadvantages. The Anaerobic Fermentation Process runs slowly even with artificial heating of the digestate. That's why the required residence time of the sludge in the fermentation tanks long. Accordingly the lazy rooms are very large. The systems also require a long training period, until full activity is achieved. The bacterial activity is easily accidental Chemicals or industrial impurities that have been introduced are disturbed or even poisoned.
Even the detergents widely used today have only a moderate effect Increased concentration changes the methane fermentation to the undesirable acidic one Fermentation. On the other hand, pathogenic germs and worm eggs are by no means completely killed, so in some systems have additional facilities for disinfection with chlorine in case of epidemic risk.
After all, it is very annoying that by far the largest part of the Phosphate, which was bound to the flakes and separated from the wastewater, is released again by the methane fermentation and with the clear water into the receiving waters got.
In the patent application P 22 14 756.4 a method is described to remove the finely divided suspended solids from urban wastewater containing wetting agents of the coiloidal distributed substances without the use of heavy metal ions, e.g.
Fe3 +, just by adjusting the pH # \: Vertes to> 11.0 with the help to be separated from hydrated lime and, if necessary, from the resulting clear water then in a second process stage to remove the wetting agents.
It has now been found that this Can apply the process and in particular its first stage to the fresh sludge, how it is pumped into the digestion tunnel on existing systems. For this it is only required, the fresh sludge continuously or discontinuously with a such amount of hydrated lime in the form of an aqueous slurry with vigorous stirring to put that the pE-iSert? ll, O becomes.
It is useful to keep the suspension for a short time, e.g. Keep in motion for 30 to 60 seconds after the addition by stirring or flowing, because the implementation that is taking place requires a certain amount of warming time. It changes the very water-rich and non-settling sludge turns into a calcareous, almost granular ijasse around which sediments very quickly and unlike all biological degraded sludge is easily filterable. It then contains after filtration or 30-35% water after separation in a centrifuge, based on the calcareous felled material. From that originally contained in the mud 90-95% of water is separated directly as clear water. This only contains a very small amount of organic substances that are really present in dissolved form and insofar as they were not adsorbed on the flakes. These include sugar and urea and wetting agents. Since the volume of the fresh sludge is about 1 o of the original wastewater makes up the amount of clear water that occurs after the procedure described accrues at the same level and can be connected to the main stream without any difficulty of the treated wastewater can be drained into the receiving water, as there is no putrefactive waste Contains more substances.
The basicity of the clear water is due to the dilution with the main stream or neutralized by the C02 dissolved in it to such an extent that according to previous experience the pH does not increase noticeably.
A variant of the method is that the clear water to the raw wastewater is added in front of the first sedimentation tank, e.g. behind the sand trap and the system runs a second time. Another variant is the clear water according to the method of the main application in a foam column intensively ventilated and cleaned of wetting agents, neutralized by the addition of C02 and directed into the receiving water.
The procedure according to the invention for converting the water-rich and putrid fresh sludge from sewage treatment sites into an easily dewatered calcareous one Mass has a number of very important advantages over the masses in use today Method of treating these Scl, lälllrl.e. As the most important advantage is the extraordinary speed with which the process of the Coagulation and the subsequent settling or filtration takes place. The usual Digestion period of sewage sludge in urban septic tanks with an average.
Temperature of 200 is approx. 45 days, at 250 it is still 28-30 days and accordingly requires large rooms. Here is the further drying of the Not counting rotten sludge on drying beds. In contrast is the residence time of the sludge in a plant according to the invention Process including the settling and separation of the solids via Filter or centrifuge little more than 30 minutes. ~ That is why the plant size negligibly small compared to the digestion towers.
In contrast to the bacterial degradation of organic sludge lime precipitation is neither affected by temperature fluctuations - for example in winter 7 nor affected by industrial chemicals. Furthermore, due to the high basicity all bacteria including pathogens and worm eggs are safely killed.
Finally, the great advantage for the receiving water is that the phosphate not released again, but quantitatively in the form of hydroxyl apatite in the precipitate is bound.
Embodiment: 100 kg sewage sludge with a solids content 4.5 kg were mixed with an aqueous suspension of technical hydrated lime, until the pH-çiert after ripening was 11.5.
After thickening, the precipitated material was placed on a suction filter in the when wet, weighs 18.8 kg. It contained 6.0 kg of water and 1.8 kg of calcareous Solid. Of the 95.5 kg of water originally contained in the mud, it fell 95.5 - 6.0 = 89.5 kg as clear water, that's about -94 #.
The milk of lime used in the method according to the invention can be prepared with the resulting clear water; in this case that part becomes of the clear water so only in a circle and ehtfallt in the above water balance.
The highly calcareous one obtained by the process according to the invention Sludge, which among other things, the quantitatively excreted phosphates and almost the total amount of organic matter, especially nitrogen compounds contains, can be used as a high-quality lime-humus fertilizer, most of which can bring back the cost of the lime used. Of particular advantage is that this fertilizer through the admixture of suitable additives can be modified in any way.
Torf in Frage. In particular, such additives are base-compatible Substances such as Thomas phosphate, superphosphate, potassium salts, nitrates and gypsum in smaller quantities, but on the other hand also humic substances such as peat. Such substances not only increase the fertilizer value, they also have an effect at the same time partial neutralization of the calcareous felled material. The admixture of these supplements in the moist, pasty state, which the älut when dewatering the felled material, e.g. Having on suction filters allows the final product to be in the form of a non-dusting To win granules.
Of particular interest is the use of finely ground and thermally or oxidatively decomposed waste as an additive to the calcareous waste Mud.
