Verfahren zur Herstellung von Metallsuperoxyden. Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 3. Mai 1905 ab. Process for the production of metal superoxides. Patented in the German Empire on May 3, 1905.
Diese Darstellungsmethode hat den Vorteil, daß die Superoxyde, natürlich unter Anwendung der entsprechenden Vorsichtsmaßregeln (KühlungIt is known that the superoxides of the alkaline earth metals, magnesium and heavy metals by the action of high-percentage hydrogen peroxide on the metal salts concerned with the addition of an alkali, e.g. B. ammonia, can be easily obtained. These Representation method has the advantage that the super oxides, of course using the appropriate precautionary measures (cooling
It is also known that these superoxides are also formed by the direct action of sodium superoxide on the corresponding metal salts. In this case, however, usually slimy, poorly filterable and easily decomposing products are obtained. For large-scale production, the use of high-percentage hydrogen peroxide is ruled out because of its high price, and only the cheap sodium peroxide is suitable as the starting material 1.
Vorliegende Erfindung besteht nun darin, die Vorteile der Anwendung des Wasserstoff-.The present invention now consists in taking advantage of the use of the hydrogen.
Superoxyds can also be achieved with sodium superoxide as the starting material in that sodium peroxide is first treated with a strong inorganic or organic acid implemented by gradual introduction and the high percentage hydrogen peroxide sodium salt solution obtained on metal salts with the addition of an alkali, e.g. B. ammonia, can act. Instead of metal salt and ammonia can you can of course also use the corresponding metal hydroxide or oxide, which primarily arises from metal salt and alkali: on this one. Way it is easy to manage that Production of hydrogen peroxide from sodium peroxide and the action of the the former on metal salts with formation of the end product, the corresponding superoxide, in perform an operation. Fine, granular and easily filterable precipitates are obtained, which, because of their chemical purity, are not like those by direct action of Sodium peroxide, slimy masses obtained on metal salts tend to decompose with simple filtering and drying devices can be obtained in a dry state. This results in a significant saving in terms of the equipment required, and also by the fact that instead of the concentrated hydrogen peroxide, the sodium peroxide is used as a raw material, a considerable reduction in price is achieved.
Es ist zwar bekannt, daß derartige Salze auf fertig gebildete Metallsuperoxyjde; ,keine-- schädliche Einwirkung habenThe possibility of working in this way was not easily foreseen since it was not to be expected that the presence of the neutral sodium salts would not cause the reaction would disturb. It is known that such salts are based on completely formed metal superoxides; , no - have harmful effects

But it could not be foreseen in what way they would react to the hydrogen peroxide. All that is known in this regard is that sodium sulphate and similar salts precipitated are harmless in the distillation of hydrogen peroxide (patent specification 152173). But you could not conclude that the presence of such salts would also not be harmful if the hydrogen peroxide did not undergo a purely physical treatment, l, but is brought into reaction from this fact. In fact, experiments have shown that the yield of metal superoxide is considerably reduced if, instead of allowing pure hydrogen peroxide to act on oxides or hydroxides, such pure hydrogen peroxide is allowed to act on metal salts in the presence of alkali hydroxide. It seems, therefore, that in this case either hydrogen peroxide decomposes or the reaction between the hydrogen peroxide and the metal hydroxide formed is disturbed in some way.
According to this one should have assumed that if the amount of alkali salt present the result would be even worse. Since now with the present described procedure the amount of the alkali salt compared to that just mentioned is doubled, it would have been expected that when using the raw mixture, which is formed when sodium peroxide is reacted with acid, which can be used in practice in place of pure hydrogen peroxide Results \ would be impossible to achieve. But surprisingly it turned out that that by doubling the amount of the alkali salt no further depression the yield brought about or this yield and the utilization of the existing active Oxygen influenced only to a practically inconceivable degree will.
Even if one works in such a way that one uses the crude hydrogen peroxide solution lets finished formed oxides or hydroxides act, there is the surprising difference, that the presence of the alkali salts as opposed to the use of pure hydrogen peroxide and pure hydroxides or oxides cause a disturbance, but this disturbance is less if the alkali salts do not from the formation of metal hydroxides, but from that of hydrogen peroxide. The action of crude hydrogen peroxide on metal hydroxides or oxides is therefore more advantageous than the pure hydrogen peroxide on metal salts and alkali.
Through this statement, contrary to what was to be assumed a priori, there is the possibility proven to work with crude hydrogen peroxide solution, with which considerable technical There are advantages associated with it, since the advantages already mentioned with regard to further processing the precipitates and the simplification of the apparatus can be achieved, but also the losses of effective Oxygen should be avoided, which would have to occur if one were to use the sodium peroxide as starting from the only technically possible raw material, the one shown first raw hydrogen peroxide would have to purify first.
Beispiel 1.
Magnesiumsuperoxyd.Example 1.
Magnesium superoxide.
Nach Wiederabkühlung werden 22 kg einer gesättigten Chlormagnesiumlösung hinzugefügt und darauf allmählich unter Rühren und Kühlen 17 kg 25 prozentiges Ammoniak einfließen gelassen.30 kg of 25 percent hydrochloric acid are diluted with 15 liters of water and poured through running water well chilled. Then 8 kg of sodium peroxide are gradually added until neutralization is done. The temperature must not rise too high. After re-cooling 22 kg of a saturated chlorine magnesium solution are added and then gradually 17 kg of 25 percent ammonia were allowed to flow in with stirring and cooling.
After the mixture has stood still for an hour, the precipitate becomes nitrided, partly washed out and carefully dried, then completely washed out again and dried.
Beispiele.
Zi η ks uperoxyd.Examples.
Zi η ks superoxide.
Instead of the magnesium chloride solution, 13.6 kg of zinc chloride (anhydrous) dissolved in 10 l of water is used. otherwise proceed as in example 1.
Beispiel 3.
Callciumsuperoxyd.Example 3.
Callcium superoxide.
After 8 kg of sodium peroxide have been added to 30 kg of hydrochloric acid and 10 l of water, as much milk of lime is added as corresponds to 7.6 kg of Ca (OH) 2, left to stand, nitrated, dried, etc. as in Example 1, or one sets Add as much saturated calcium chloride solution as corresponds to 11.1 kg of Ca Cl 2 , followed by 17 kg of ammonia, and the procedure is otherwise as in Example 1.
In all cases the precipitated superoxide can easily be filtered off and a high percentage is obtained Product without annoying admixtures.
