Abstract

The skittle alley track cross section is as hown for most of its length but the width increases at the skittle end to provide space for the skittles to be arranged in the usual manner. The three plastic beams have matching tongues and grooves and are held by slide rails on I-section beams mounted on the concrete base. Lengths of the sections are keyed endwise to each other and tension springs pull the sections towards the skittle end of the track. Side rails attached by angle irons collect badly aimed balls. The beams are of low density polyethylene plastic with chains having > 105 links and with antistatic properties.
