Um dieses letztere jedoch behufs Füllung und Reinigung leicht bewirken zu können, ■wählt man für das Gefäfs e eine Legirung, deren Schmelzpunkt niedriger ist als der Siedepunkt des Wassers, und man kann bei Eintauchen des Untertheiles der Lampe in kochendes Wasser den Stift d aus dem flüssigen Metall herausziehen.
