Eine feststehende, an einem Operationstisch befestigte Kugel m ist von einer Hülse teilweise umschlossen, in welche ein Rohr m1 eingeschraubt ist. Letzteres ist an seinem vorderen Ende, zu einer Büchse ausgebildet, welche einerseits durch'. einen Verschlußzapfen w2 abgeschlossen und andererseits an ihrer Unterseite mit einer konischen Ausdrehung m3 versehen ist. In diese Ausdrehung ist eine entsprechend gestaltete konische Büchse des Rohres η ganz genau eingepaßt, welche durch den Verschlußzapfen n1 abgeschlossen ist. Die beiden Büchsen werden durch einen an dem unteren Ende mit Gewinde und an dem oberen Ende mit einem einen konischen Ansatz aufweisenden Kopf n2 versehenen Bolzen n3 zusammengehalten. Der in der unteren Büchse befindliche Teil des Bolzens n3 ist von einer einen konischen Ansatz aufweisenden Hülse w4 umgeben. Die beiden konischen Ansätze sind nur auf dem halben Umfang des Bolzens angeordnet. Im Innern der Büchsen der Rohre m1 und η sind Hülsen 0 gelagert, welche den zylindrischen Teil von n2 und n* umfassen. Über die Ansätze von n% und nl ist je ein Gleitstück o1 von halbringförmigem Querschnitt angeordnet. Die Bohrung der Gleitstücke o1 entspricht genau dem entsprechenden konischen Ansatz von n2 und nl. Gleichzeitig werden die beiden Büchsen zusammengepreßt, so daß die letztereh nicht mehr zueinander bewegt werden können. Somit sind alle beweglichen Teile der Stützvorrichtung festgestellt. Nach Losschrauben der Mutter n5 kann die ganze Vorrichtung um die Kugel m gedreht und in gewissen Grenzen um diese herum bewegt werden. Auch können die beiden Büchsen mit den zugehöfigenVTeilen zueinander bewegt werden, da sie gelenkig miteinander verbunden sind.
