Die Waschflüssigkeit wird dem Saugventil e der Ummantelung unter so hohem Druck zugeführt, daß das Saugventil in dem Maße entlastet ist, daß ein Rückströmen der Waschflüssigkeit durch die Filtermaterialien im Zylinder a in gewünschtem Grade vermieden wird. Durch die Abdichtung g wird die Ummantelung d in Saug- und Druckraum getrennt. Der Zylinder α wird durch bekannte, an der Spindel h angreifende Organe, z. B. Kurbelwelle, Exzenter, Zahngetriebe, auf- und abwärts bewegt. Das Eigengewicht des Zylinders α zuzüglich des Gewichtes der Filtermaterialien wird durch auf der Kurbel- oder Exzenterwelle aufgekeilte Schwungräder ausgeglichen, so daß nur der Durchflußwiderstand zu überwinden ist.The device used to carry out the method is illustrated in the drawing in a vertical section through the filter.
