Verfahren zur Herstellung von Brenzoatechin bzw. Alkylbrenzcatechin
Encyolopedia of Chem.Techn. 2. Ed. Vol.11 (1966), S. 467) zuzusetzen.
Umsatz nicht befriedigend und lag nur bei etwa 34 - 35 %.Process for the production of pyrocatechol or alkylpyrocatechol
It is known to produce catechol or alkyl catechol by saponifying o-chlorophenol
to win. The reaction is mostly carried out in the presence of a copper salt catalyst
carried out by means of aqueous caustic soda solution. You go as far as possible
from pure o-chlorophenol, since in this case the formation of by-products and resinification products
is relatively low. On the other hand, o-chlorophenol is only significant
Expenditure in pure form from the mixture resulting from the chlorination of phenol
to isolate, and one therefore also has mixtures of o-chlorophenol with a small proportion
brought to saponification of p-chlorophenol. But in all of these cases there was saponification
cannot be carried out satisfactorily in a simple manner, and attempts have been made to
to improve them. For example, it has been proposed7 for the saponification reaction
Alkaline earth salts (US Patents 2,041,592 and 2,041,593) or lead chloride (Kirk-Othmer,
Encyolopedia of Chem. Techn. 2nd ed. Vol. 11 (1966), p. 467) to be added. Despite this
In all cases, additives require long saponification times, around 9-10 hours.
If shorter saponification times were selected, the was used, for example, when adding alkaline earth metal
Conversion not satisfactory and was only around 34-35%.
entsprechender Anteil von Hydrochinon an.It has now been found that you can in a simplified manner by saponification
of o-chlorophenol in pure form or in a mixture with other chlorophenols, or
the corresponding alkyl chlorophenols, in the presence of copper or a copper salt
as a catalyst at temperatures of about 160 - 230 ° using an aqueous alkali solution
Pyrocatechol or alkyl catechol can be obtained if you have an approx. 0.8 - 1.5
molar alkaline phenolate solution in which a molar ratio of phenol to chlorine
of at most about 1: 1 is present, is used for stranding, taking the saponification time
in the case of an oil ratio of about 1: 1 not over 2 hours and in the case of
a lower IBIol ratio does not hold for more than about 3 hours. When carrying out the reaction
Brenzoatechol becomes brenzoatechol even without the addition of alkaline earth salts or other metal compounds
obtained with good yields, with a tendency towards the formation of resinous products
is greatly reduced when present
of p-chlorophenol occurs
corresponding proportion of hydroquinone.
Wählt man kleinere
The process can be batchwise or continuous, optionally
under increased pressure. Both pure o-chlorophenol can be used
as well as mixtures of this with p-chlorophenol, possibly also with dichlorophenols,
can be used. The alkaline solution used for saponification should
