In einer ersten Sture wird das Rohwasser dem Feld von hauptsächlich Aluminium enthaltenden Elektroden ausgesetzt. Es kommt zur Bildung von Aluminiumhydroxyd und damit zur Ausflockung dieser Substanz. Mit der Ausflockung istgleichzeitig eine chemische Aufbereitung und eine Verbesserung des Härtegrades verbunden. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur elektrophysikalischen und mechanischen Aufbereitung von Rohwasser, wobei das Rohwasser dem Feld metallischer mit pulsierendem Gleichstrom betriebener Elektroden ausgesetzt und filtriert wird. Die Erfindung besteht darin, daß das Rohwasser dem Feld von Kupfer oder eine Kupferlegierung enthaltender Elektroden ausgesetzt und dadurch gleichzeitig eine Ausflockungsbehandlung sowie einer oligodynamischen Sterilisierung unterworfen wird, - und daß danach lediglich die Ausflockungen abfiltriert werden. Während man nach dem Stand der Technik die elktrophysikalische Behandlung zweistufig, einerseits für die Ausflockung und andererseits für die oligodynamische Sterilisierung durchgeführt hat, hat die Erfindung erkannt, daß man ohne weiteres einstufig arbeiten kann und nichtsdestoweniger ganz ausgezeichnete Aufbereitung in chemischer aber auch in bakteriologischer Hinsicht erhält. Der Einsatz von Edelmetallen ist nicht mehr erforderlich. Arbeitet man in der beschriebenen Weise mit Kupfer oder mit einer Kupferlegierung, so erreicht man gleichzeitig hinreichende Ausflockung und außerdem ausgezeichnete oligodynamische Wirkung. Gleichzeitig kann die Vorrichtung zur Durchführung der elektrophysikalischen und mechanischen Aufbereitung vereinfacht werden. Eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens ist lediglich noch gekennzeichnet durch eine Rohwassereintrittsleitung mit darin eingeschalteter Elektrodenkammer mit Kupferelektroden, nachgeschalteter, vorzugsweise im Strömungsquerschnitt erweiterter, Filterkammer mit Filterschüttung aus-Sand, Perlite oder dergl. An die Elektroden 4 7 wird pulsierender Gleichstrom angelegt, Verfolgt man den Weg des Rohwassers durch eine erflndungsgemäße Vorrichtung> so er kennt man, daß das Rohwasser dem Feld der Kupfer enthaltenden Elektroden 4 ausgesetzt und dadurch gleichzeitig einer Ausflockungsbehandlung sowie einer oligodynamischen Sterilisierung unterworfen wird.
