Abstract
Description
Multilayer color photographic material based on halogen silver emulsions The invention relates to a multi-layer color photographic material based of halogen silver emulsions, that color couplers which react with developer oxidation products contains in the individual layers.
In the case of color photographic multi-layer recording materials the production of the color separations required by the laws of three-color reproduction in that each of the three layers represents a third of the visible spectral range registered. This is achieved in that the layers are correspondingly spectrally sensitized and, if necessary, filter layers between the registrants Emulsion layers are arranged.
When using bromine and iodobromide silver emulsions, such as those for Recording materials used for reasons of sensitivity is always the Interposition of a yellow filter layer between the blue registering top Layer and the middle layer registering green is required, if not, renouncing good color separation and high sensitivity, an exchange the sequence of layers. Between the green-sensitive and the red-sensitive Layer, no filter layer is generally arranged. This is possible because that highly effective spectral sensitizers relatively good selectivity be available.
The spectral sensitizers used are those which are called a Train I-gang. This results in sensitivity maxima at 550 to 570 or 650 to 670 nm. It is one of these spectral sensitizers Property that, from the maximum of the 1 band, the sensitivity to the longer wave TOO very steep, after the shorter wave it drops off too gradually. So it gets one so-called overlap, that is, in the border area between the green and Both layers are delicate in your hot extract. Such "overlaps" are up to necessary to some extent.
According to German patent specification No. 762 827, this overlap reinforced by additional spectral sensitization in the border areas. This makes it possible to improve certain spectral colors in the reproduction. However, in normal color photography you have to deal with body colors all have a fairly broad remission area. Practice has been consistent with the methods of color reproduction technology result that with as selective as possible Color separations have the highest color saturation and the lowest color shifts will receive. Overlaps without affecting normal color images achievable color rendering are acceptable if they are not more than 20% (cf. Gorochovski and Popova, Advances in Scientific Photography, Russian, 8, Pp. 146 to 154 - 1962). The abandonment of the limit of the visible red in the Spectral awareness is important because it allows the rendering to be certain blue flower colors in the natural sense of blue becomes possible (see picture and Ton 6, pages 327 to 328 - 1953) o That means, in general terms, that not the physical exact registration of the light emitted by the object over the whole of the visible Spectral range delivers the best color rendering according to perception, but the registration the physiologically determined spectral brightness Sensation of Eye should be adjusted as possible.
That's not the case when there is spectral sensitization to red takes place in such a way that the maximum lies at 650 to 66 Ω nm. It would be cheaper if straight the psychologically important area from 600 to 630 nm in the red-sensitive layer was captured more strongly. However, if one is sensitized in this way, it is inevitable If the sensitization band extends towards the green area, the overlap is as follows great that many color tones deteriorate.
The purpose of the invention is to improve color rendering, in particular improving the color purity of color photographic materials.
The invention is based on the object of a color photographic Material with improved detection of physiologically essential radiation areas through additional sensitization with a maximum in the range from 600 to 660 nm and the annoying overlap in the area of green sensitivity through -Avoid suitable measures.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by the combination of the two Sensitizers with adjacent maxima in the range from 600 to 66G nm in a red-sensitive layer and a purple-colored layer above it or red filter layer. An additional awareness in the range of 600 to 630 nm, which corresponds to the physiologically important area, is provided by the invention thereby possible that disturbing absorption in the area of green sensitivity through a purple or red filter layer is kept below 20%. the The filter layer must expediently be designed in such a way that it can be used in the normal processing process of the multilayer film is irreversible is decolorized. Are suitable for example layers of red colloidal silver with appropriate absorption, purple formazan dyes or @ -naphthol organs and its derivatives. The optical one Density of the filter layer is adjusted so that the overlap of the red-sensitive Layer to the green-sensitive is below 20%. Suitable as spectral sensitizers For example, compounds of the formula I or II (see Pormelanhang). Used diffusion-resistant couplers with long aliphatic chains are used in the layers as Substituents are used to avoid desorption of the sensitizer by solubilization (cf. Z.wiss.Phot. 52, 170 to 179 - 1958) to use such carbocyanines at where the alkyl radicals on the nitrogen are replaced by carboxyl, sulfo or other acidic groups are substituted. The major improvement in red sensitivity in the physiologically important range - from 600 to 630 nm was for recording materials neither by a corresponding sensitizer nor by a combination of two sensitizers possible because the disturbance ii area of green sensitivity due to its runners led to an unbearable deterioration. The combination according to the invention enables increased sensitivity and an improvement in color rendering of recording materials.
The invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment.
A silver halide emulsion is applied to a film base layer applied, which the diffusion-resistant coupler Kö 686 (Bios Final Report 721, 18; 1946) contains. Before adding the coupler, a mixture of sensitizing dyes is applied of formulas II and III sensitized. Above it is the purple or red Filter layer and then the green-sensitive layer with the diffusion-proof coupler Z 169 (Bios Final Report 721, 21; 1946) applied. The latter will spectrally sensitized with compounds of formula IV and V.
Separated by one of the usual yellow filter layers with colloidal silver This is followed by the non-spectrally sensitized iodobromide silver emulsion with the diffusion-resistant one Parb coupler for yellow, F 535 (Bios Final Report 721, 22; 1946). After exposure and a reverse development results in a slide with natural color tones in particular of lavender, purple and yellow-green as well as with a sensitive rendering of metameric shades of blue.
