Abstract

Adjustable weed knife, with
a knife holder (10) which has a knife groove (11) on its first side;
a cutting body (12) having a blade (121) and a mounting portion (122), the mounting portion (122) being disposed in the knife groove (11);
a handle (13) which is a hollow tubular body, the first end of which is connected to a rod (14), the rod (14) being held by the user; and
a hinge assembly (20) connecting the second side of the knife holder to the second end of the handle, the knife holder being rotatable about the hinge assembly and positioned at a desired angle by the hinge assembly.

Description

The invention relates to a garden tool.

There are a number of different jobs in the horticultural planting area, such as weeding, loosening soil, shoveling hard soil, etc. Appropriate tools must be used for each task. An electric weed killer can be used to remove weeds over large areas. In ordinary residential gardens or small planting areas, weeds are often pulled by hand. It's easy to hurt your fingers, and pulling it out is tedious and difficult. A shovel or rake is required to loosen the soil or shovel hard soil. In other words, different tasks require different tools.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the invention provides an adjustable weed knife.

The technical features of the invention:

An adjustable weeding knife, with a knife holder that has a knife groove on its first side; a cutting body having a blade and a mounting portion, the mounting portion being disposed in the knife groove; a handle, which is a hollow tubular body, the first end of which is connected to a rod, the rod being held by the user; and a hinge assembly connecting the second side of the knife holder to the second end of the handle, the knife holder being rotatable about the hinge assembly and positioned at a desired angle by the hinge assembly.

Advantages of the invention:

The weeding knife of the invention allows the angle of use of the knife holder and the cutting body to be adjusted.

The weeding knife of the invention can cut and weed the weeds and loosen and shred the soil.

As in 1 until 4 shown, the adjustable weed knife according to the invention comprises: a knife holder 10, a cutting body 12, a handle 13 and a joint arrangement 20.

The knife holder 10 has a knife groove 11 on its first side.

The cutting body 12 is made of metal and has a blade 121 and a fastening portion 122. The fastening section 122 is arranged in the knife groove 11. Screws, rivets or other known technical means can be used for fastening.

The handle 13 is a hollow tubular body whose first end is connected to a rod 14. The rod 14 is held by the user.

The joint assembly 20 includes a rotating section 21, two joint sections 23, a fastening nut 26, a hand nut 27 and an axle 30.

The rotating section 21 is located at the second end of the handle 13 and has an axial hole 22.

The two joint sections 23 are located in the middle of the second side of the knife holder 10. The two joint sections 23 are each provided with a joint hole 24 in the middle. The two joint sections 23 clamp the two ends of the rotating section 21. One of the joint sections 23 forms a nut recess 25 around the joint hole 24.

The fastening nut 26 is arranged in the nut groove 25 and cannot be rotated.

The hand nut 27 has a hand turning section 28. The outline shape and size of the hand turning portion 28 is easy for the user to hold and turn the hand nut with fingers. An axle bushing 29 is formed in the middle of the hand rotating section 28. The cross section of the axle bushing 29 is hexagonal.

The axis 30 has a head 31, a shaft 32 and a threaded section 33, which are coaxially connected to one another.

The head 31 has a hexagonal cross section and is secured in the axle bushing 29 by a press fit. The shaft 32 is passed through the hinge holes 24 and the axial hole 22. The threaded section 33 is screwed into the fastening nut 26.

As in 5 shown, the opposing surfaces of the hinge portions 23 and the rotating portion 21 each form a plurality of radial grooves 40 about the axis 30 and a plurality of radial ribs 41 about the axis 30. The number of grooves 40 is greater than that of the ribs 41. When the axis 30 is tightened is, the ribs 41 engage in the grooves 40, whereby the joint sections 23 cannot rotate about the axis 30, so that the knife holder 10 is fixed. On the other hand, when the axle 30 is loosened, the rotating portion 23 can rotate around the axle 30. The ribs 41 engage in the other grooves 40, whereby a multi-stage angular adjustment of the knife holder 10 is realized.

The opposing surfaces of the joint portions 23 and the rotating portion 21 may also be fine-toothed surfaces or the like. When the axle 30 is tightened, the hinge portions 23 clamp the rotating portion 21. Due to the high frictional force, the joint sections 23 cannot rotate about the axis 30, so that the knife holder 10 is fixed. On the other hand, if the axle 30 is loosened, the joint sections 23 can rotate continuously around the shaft 30 to adjust the angle of the knife holder 10.

The user can adjust the angle of use of the knife holder 10 according to the needs of gardening.

In 6 the angle θ between the knife holder 10 and the handle 13 is less than 90 degrees. In the direction of arrow A, the invention cuts into the bottom 51. Then it is moved in the direction of arrow B. This is repeated several times to cut off the weeds 52 and loosen the soil 51.

In 7 the angle θ between the knife holder 10 and the handle 13 is approximately 120-160 degrees. The invention shovels the soil 51 repeatedly in the direction of arrow C to pull the weeds 52 and loosen the soil 51.

In 8th the angle θ between the knife holder 10 and the handle 13 is approximately 100-110 degrees. The invention cuts in the direction of arrow D. Then it is moved in the direction of arrow E. This is repeated several times to cut the larger and cohesive clods of earth 53 into smaller and distributed clods of earth 54.

Adjustable weed knife, with a knife holder (10) on its first side has a knife groove (11); a cutting body (12) having a blade (121) and a mounting portion (122), the mounting portion (122) being disposed in the knife groove (11); a handle (13) which is a hollow tubular body, the first end of which is connected to a rod (14), the rod (14) being held by the user; and a hinge assembly (20) connecting the second side of the knife holder to the second end of the handle, the knife holder being rotatable about the hinge assembly and positioned at a desired angle by the hinge assembly. Adjustable weed knife Claim 1 , characterized in that the hinge assembly includes: a rotating portion (21) located at the second end of the handle (13) and having an axial hole (22); two joint sections (23), which are located in the middle of the second side of the knife holder (10), the two joint sections (23) clamping the rotating section (21), the two joint sections (23) each having a joint hole ( 24), one of the hinge portions (23) forming a nut recess (25) around the hinge hole (24); a fixing nut (26) which is disposed in the nut groove (25) and cannot be rotated; a hand nut (27) having an axle bushing (29) in the middle; and an axle (30) having a head (31), a shaft (32) and a threaded portion (33) coaxially connected to each other, the head (31) being press-fitted in the axle bushing (29), wherein the shaft (32) is passed through the hinge holes (24) and the axial hole (22), and the threaded portion (33) is screwed into the fastening nut (26).
