Description
The invention relates to a molded part, in particular a decorative part and/or lining part designed as a molded part for a vehicle interior.
Numerous decorative and paneling parts are installed in the vehicle interior, for example door panels, console and instrument panels. The decor and trim parts also include control buttons or the covers of control buttons.
An integration of display and lighting functions is often desired for such molded parts. The integration of display and lighting functions behind a flat, uninterrupted decorative layer leads to reduced luminance, edge sharpness and increased color locus deviation. Therefore, such decorative layers are perforated in order to create a possibility to guide light from the back side of the decorative layer to the front side of the decorative layer.
However, the perforation results in a so-called "tunnel effect" (or a "channel"), which leads to an increased viewing angle dependency. The display/illumination functions can therefore only be recognized in a small angular range, in particular of approximately 90°, which is regarded as disadvantageous. Decor and trim parts are therefore only suitable to a limited extent for the integration of display and lighting functions.
The present invention is based on the object of specifying a new molded part, in particular a new molded part, which at least largely avoids the aforementioned disadvantages.
This object is achieved by the features of claim 1. Advantageous refinements and developments are specified in the dependent claims.
The molded part according to the invention comprises a decorative layer with a front side designed as a visible side and a rear side opposite the front side, and a microperforation formed by a large number of through holes, the holes each extending along their respective longitudinal axis in a straight line between the rear side and front side of the decorative layer. Furthermore, the molded part comprises a lighting and/or display unit, wherein light emanating from the lighting and/or display unit can be guided through the microperforation of the decorative layer to the visible side of the molded part.
The molded part also includes a transparent or translucent light guide layer, the light guide layer being arranged on the front or on the back of the decorative layer, the light guide layer extending at least partially, in particular completely, into the holes in the microperforation, so that the holes at least partially , In particular completely filled with the material of the light guide layer.
The luminance and the sharpness of the edges are increased by the perforation of the decorative layer compared to transillumination of a decorative layer without perforation. Furthermore, the color locus shift is reduced by the perforation.
The advantages of the invention are, in particular, that the dependence on the viewing angle is significantly reduced by filling the perforation with a transparent or translucent material. The so-called tunnel effect is thus reduced by the light guide layer engaging in the holes.
Microperforation is understood as meaning the presence of a large number of continuous holes (or openings) in the decorative layer. The material of the decorative layer is thus removed in the area of the holes. The longitudinal axis of each hole, through which visible light is directed from the back to the front of the decorative layer, can be oriented parallel and/or congruent or oblique to a surface normal of the front of the decorative layer at the exit point of the respective hole. Furthermore, the holes can in particular run parallel to one another.
Die Durchmesser der Löcher liegen insbesondere im Bereich von 40 bis 160 µm, bevorzugt 60 bis 140 µm, beispielsweise bei 100 µm.The cross section of the holes perpendicular to their respective longitudinal axis can be round or elliptical or angular, for example. The cross sections of the holes are particularly preferably round. The diameters of the holes are in particular in the range from 40 to 160 μm, preferably 60 to 140 μm, for example 100 μm.
The shape and/or dimensions of the cross section of the holes can be consistent or constant along their respective longitudinal axis. However, it is also possible for the shape and/or dimensions of the cross section of the holes to change along their longitudinal axis; in particular, the cross-sectional dimensions can decrease from the back of the decorative layer to the front of the decorative layer. For example, in the case of a round cross section, the holes can be shaped like truncated cones, with the cross section decreasing towards the front.
If the light guide layer is arranged on the rear side of the decorative layer, the molded part has an open-pored surface, and if the light guide layer is on the front side of the decorative layer is arranged, the molded part has a high-gloss surface.
A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the light guide layer comprises PUR or is formed from PUR. Alternatively, the light guide layer can comprise or be formed from a crystal-clear plastic, in particular PMMA or PC.
The molded part preferably comprises a carrier, the carrier being arranged on the rear side of the light guide layer or on the rear side of the decorative layer. The carrier can be a carrier layer, with the carrier layer being arranged completely or partially on the rear side of the decorative layer or the rear side of the light guide layer. The carrier may also include or be formed from one or more fasteners, such as hooks or clips.
An embodiment variant of the invention provides that the decorative layer is or comprises a wood veneer. However, the decorative layer can also be metal, for example aluminum, and/or carbon and/or stone and/or textile materials and/or fabric and/or plastic, for example a plastic film, for example an IMD film and/or IML film and /or FIM film, comprise or consist of. The decorative layer can also consist not only of one decorative layer, but also of two or more layers. The decorative layers can each be formed from one of the aforementioned materials.
According to a development of the invention, a lamination, for example comprising fleece and adhesive, is arranged on the rear of the decorative layer, in particular between the rear of the decorative layer and the carrier or between the rear of the decorative layer and the light guide layer.
One embodiment of the invention provides that the light guide layer is arranged on the rear side of the decorative layer, with the light guide layer extending completely into the holes of the microperforation, with the holes being filled with the material of the light guide layer in such a way that on the front side of the decorative layer at least in the area of the microperforation, an overhanging layer, in particular a thin one, is formed from the material of the light guide layer.
The lighting and/or display unit can be a display, for example an LCD or an LED display or a PLED display or a printed circuit board on which micro-LEDs are arranged and/or attached and/or electrically contacted are. The lighting and/or display unit can also be a static display that represents a symbol, for example. The lighting and/or display unit can also be lighting that produces ambient lighting, for example.
The light guide layer can have an embossing on its front side, in particular in order to have haptic effects when touched.
- a) providing a decorative material for forming a decorative layer of the molding, the decorative layer having a front side configured as a visible side and a rear side opposite the front side,
- b) making a large number of continuous holes in the decorative layer to form a microperforation in such a way that the holes each extend along their respective longitudinal axis in a straight line between the rear side and the front side of the decorative layer,
- c) Attaching, in particular spraying or casting, a transparent or translucent, easily conductive material to the front or to the back of the decorative layer to form a light guide layer, the material for forming the light guide layer penetrating at least partially, in particular completely, into the holes of the microperforation, so that the holes are at least partially, in particular completely, filled with the material of the light guide layer,
- d) arranging at least one lighting and/or display unit on or in the molded part, with light emanating from the lighting and/or display unit passing through the microperfo ration of the decorative layer can be routed through to the visible side of the molded part.
One particular advantage of the process is that different “surfaces” of the molded part, for example the decorative layer itself or the light guide layer, can be produced in the same tool.
The material for forming the light guide layer particularly preferably comprises PUR or is formed from PUR. Alternatively, the material for forming the light guide layer can include or be formed from a crystal-clear plastic, in particular PMMA or PC.
The holes can be made in the decorative material to form the microperforation by laser cutting or fine cutting (also fine punching). If the decorative material has two or more layers, the holes are made through the entire decorative material, ie through all layers of the decorative material.
The holes are preferably made in the decorative layer in such a way that the longitudinal axis of each hole is arranged parallel and/or congruent and/or at an angle to a surface normal of the front side of the decorative layer at the exit point of the respective hole. Furthermore, the holes can in particular run parallel to one another.
The holes are preferably formed in such a way that the cross section of the holes perpendicular to their longitudinal axis is round or elliptical or angular. A round cross section is particularly preferred.
A support is preferably attached to the back of the light guide layer or to the back of the decorative layer, in particular injection molded and/or cast on and/or glued and/or welded on. Preferably, the carrier is applied after applying the highly conductive material to form the light guide layer (step c) above) and before arranging the lighting and/or display unit on or in the molded part (step d) above). The carrier can be embodied as a carrier layer, with the carrier layer being attached completely or partially to the back of the decorative layer or the back of the light guide layer, in particular injection molded and/or cast on and/or glued and/or welded. The carrier may include or be formed from one or more fasteners, such as hooks or clips.
The carrier can be formed from a plastic, for example polyurethane (PUR) and/or polycarbonate (PC) and/or polypropylene (PP). Furthermore, it can be provided that the carrier is injection molded onto the rear side of the decorative layer. Alternatively, the carrier can be glued or pressed onto the back of the decorative layer, in particular by means of one or more adhesive layers. The carrier can be attached or formed in such a way that it has a recess in a region of the holes for accommodating the lighting and/or display unit.
It can be provided that before the holes of the microperforation are made, a lining, for example comprising fleece and adhesive, is arranged on the back of the decorative layer, with the holes also being made in the lining when the microperforation is made, so that the holes of extend the front side of the decorative layer through the lamination.
According to one embodiment of the method, it is provided that the transparent or translucent, easily conductive material is injected or cast onto the back of the decorative layer, with the material penetrating completely into the holes of the microperforation during injection or casting, so that the holes are completely filled with the material of the light guide layer are filled, and moreover the holes are so overfilled with the material of the light guide layer that this emerges on the front side of the decorative layer and on the front side of the decorative layer, at least in the area of the microperforation, a protruding layer is formed.
Provision can be made for the light guide layer to be injection molded or cast on, with the light guide layer assuming its intended shape, ie in particular the shape in the finished component, when it is injection molded or cast on. Alternatively, provision can be made for the light guide layer to be reshaped after it has been attached, in particular together with the decorative layer, in order to form the intended shape. Again alternatively, the light guide layer can already have the intended shape before it is attached. In this case, the light guide layer can be attached to the rear or the front of the decorative layer by gluing and/or pressing.
The light guide layer can be embossed on its front side, in particular by an insert in the production tool, for example embossing paper.
