Signal light for machines and systems that indicates the operating status.

Description

The state of the art:

In the case of machines and systems, the operating status is indicated by signal lights. These signal lights are usually made of plastic. The signal lights indicate the operating status of machines and systems. This operating status is displayed in colour: red = system stopped, yellow = system being set up, green = system running. Other colors enable other operating states to be displayed. The degree of protection is generally not very high. An acoustic signal transmitter is usually installed externally.

The problem:

With conventional signal lights, different colored paint cans are pushed into one another. This gives the usual image of a traffic light. But this also creates many corners and edges that are difficult to clean. A central chip illuminates the colored cans. If contamination occurs, the signal color is now difficult to recognize. The operating status cannot be recognized or can only be recognized with difficulty. This can and does result in operational disruptions. These lights are irreparable and therefore a disposable product (sustainability).

The solution to the problem:

In my construction, the housing is a clear or satined plexiglass tube, if required also made of real glass. The case has no edges or ledges, it is smooth, slim and easy to clean. The risk of a signal being overlooked is therefore very low. The LED circuit boards I installed emit a robust light, the colors can be mixed and produce many colors and color nuances that are very easy to recognize. The specially stamped LED circuit board is glued to a hexagonal anodised aluminum rod. There are 3 soldering points for mechanical connection at the interface of the circuit board. The LEDs have a beam angle of 120°. Due to the six-sided bonding of the circuit board to the rod and the beam angle of the LED of 120°, a very good all-round view is achieved and the signals can be easily recognized.

The signal light is completely screwed and can therefore be dismantled and repaired. By installing two O-rings and two flat seals, the light is protected against the ingress of liquids

The connection options for the signal light are diverse: directly attached housing sockets, device plugs, cables with plugs or free cable ends. The built-in flat gaskets are selected for the respective area of application. These areas of application can be, for example, clean rooms or food areas. The composition of the rubber and its color are selected accordingly. The metals used in the lights are also selected for the intended use. Anodized aluminum is used for the most part. But stainless steel in V2A or V4A quality is also used for special applications. (Foot area) For visual representation by colored light, an acoustic signal transmitter is also installed in this light. The acoustic signal generator is installed in the head of the signal lamp. So the sound waves can exit well.

The advantages:

The great advantage of these signal lights is based on the solid, slim and no-frills construction and the resulting durability. The optics are high quality and the signals are easy to see. Downtimes are reduced, signals are recognized quickly and costs are reduced. By installing LED circuit boards, little power is consumed and the lights only heat up minimally. The high degree of protection (IP65) made possible by four static seals. This results in a large area of application. The sustainability of the signal light is self-explanatory. The acoustic signal generator is integrated in the signal light and no longer has to be installed in the control cabinet. This saves costs and errors in many places.
