Cleaning the anal area can cause different problems. Healthy people often tend to clean the anus too intensively after a bowel movement and sometimes with too hard toilet paper, which can lead to irritation, fissures and inflammation.

People with restricted mobility due to illness or obesity also have the problem of being able to reach the deeper areas of the anus only with difficulty and thus only being able to clean them insufficiently.

Anal hygiene is particularly demanding in patients with diseases of the anorectum, such as hemorrhoids or anal eczema.

Cleaning methods such as moist wipes, oil-soaked towels or shower toilets are environmentally problematic, time-consuming to use, expensive or not available everywhere.

There is therefore a need for a solution that improves and facilitates anal hygiene and thus makes going to the toilet more hygienic.

The present invention relates to a cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation to be applied topically for the care and protection of the anus skin which contains an extract from the fungus Tremella fuciformis.

Tremella fuciformis is a medicinal and edible mushroom that is particularly popular in Japan and China. The mushroom thrives best in tropical and subtropical climates and prefers to grow on mango wood. In Asia, the mushrooms are now often grown on a special wooden substrate and sold in dried form.

Its peculiar appearance has given the silver ear (Tremella fuciformis) its colloquial name. The mushroom is light yellow to whitish in color and has jelly-like lobes that have grown together and that actually look like ears.

Tremella fuciformis has a pleasantly sweet smell and a mild and also rather sweet taste. Tremella fuciformis (or white fungus) plays an important role in traditional Chinese cuisine. Due to its sweet taste, it is very suitable for Asian soups or desserts.

Tremella fuciformis is said to be able to help against diseases such as tuberculosis, colds and high blood pressure and is very often offered in powder or capsule form. External applications of the silver ear or its extracts in the genital or anal area are not yet known.

According to the invention, the extract known under the INCI name “Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract”, which is available from Glory-Actives GmbH, 21514 Güster, Germany, is preferred.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the preparation is applied to the anus skin before stool.

This advantageously facilitates the removal of excrement residues which could otherwise irritate and stress the anus skin (infection due to cracks in the skin, itching due to dried-on excrement). In addition, the mechanical irritation of the skin due to the friction of the toilet paper is reduced; there are also no residues of toilet paper left in the anus, which could also be irritating. In addition, when used before a bowel movement, the anus skin is cared for and the skin is less brittle or tends to crack. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the preparation according to the invention is in the form of a water-containing gel.

In a further particularly preferred embodiment, the preparation according to the invention is in the form of a colored product.

This gel is also particularly compatible with ionic active ingredients. Further advantages of the water-containing gel formulation are that it avoids oily, greasy or greasy components, is miscible with water and is clear, and thus avoids staining or soiling of clothing. It can also be easily washed off the user's hands. The preparation according to the invention shows very good water-storing properties after application to the anus and thus produces a long-term lubricating effect up to and during defecation. Yet another advantage is that the high water content has a cooling and soothing effect on the user and thus brings improved symptomatic relief.

The tremella fuciformis extract is contained in the preparation according to the invention preferably in a concentration of 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 0.5% by weight to 5% by weight and particularly preferably 2% by weight.

The preparation according to the invention preferably contains a humectant, in particular pentylene glycol.

Pentylene glycol is a chemically produced humectant that is approved worldwide as a cosmetic active ingredient. It was originally based on the unripe juice of sugar beet, but synthetic production is now standard. The usual processes include the hydrogenation of furfural with molecular hydrogen and iron (II) chloride over a so-called platinum catalyst.

Pentylene glycol is one of the substances containing hydroxyl groups, such as ethanol, glycerine and sorbitol. It is a colorless and viscous liquid that is miscible with water and has a boiling point of 242 degrees Celsius.

Pentylene glycol is widely used as a solvent and as a plasticizer in the plastics industry, but is neither classified as hazardous to health nor as toxic, as the substance cannot be detected in urine or human tissue. It is therefore considered harmless. Thanks to the very good tolerance, sensitization of the skin is practically impossible. Another immensely important benefit of Pentylene glycol is that, unlike conventional alcohol, there is no drying effect even with a higher dosage.

Pentylene glycol is contained in the preparation according to the invention preferably in a concentration of 0.5% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 2% by weight to 7% by weight and particularly preferably 5% by weight.

In order to provide optimal lubricating and dispensing properties, it is preferred that the Tremella fuciformis extract and the other ingredients of the preparation according to the invention are used in an amount such that the preferred gel formulation has a viscosity of approximately 25,000 cP (25,000 mPas) to approximately 150,000 cP (150,000 mPas) at 20 ° C (as measured using spindle 596 at 10 rpm on a Brookfield DVII +). Witch hazel extract is prepared, for example, by macerating recently cut and partially dried dormant branches of Hamamelis virginiana L in water, distilling and adding the necessary amount of ethanol to the distillate, e.g. B. made about 13-15% v / v.

According to the invention, the preparation can contain further ingredients and active ingredients, in particular further astringents, vasoconstrictor agents, topical steroid anti-inflammatory agents such as hydrocortisone or prednisolone and / or local anesthetics, in order to provide symptomatic relief and / or to alleviate the pain accompanying defecation. The preparation according to the invention is preferably formulated as a crystal clear gel, since the clarity of the gel suggests purity and cleanliness to the user, which promotes the consumer’s confidence in the product.

Examples of vasoconstrictor agents that can be used are phenylephrine hydrochloride, ephedrine sulfate, adrelanin, and adrenaline hydrochloride. The preferred vasoconstrictor is phenylephrine hydrochloride in an amount up to about 0.35% by weight of the total composition, e.g. B. about 0.1 to about 0.3 wt%, preferably about 0.25 wt%.

Another object of the present invention is the use of a preparation according to the invention as a protective gel for anal sexual intercourse or when using sex toys.

Claims (12)

Cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation to be applied topically for the care and protection of the anus skin, containing an extract from the fungus Tremella fuciformis. Preparation after Claim 1 , characterized in that the Tremella fuciformis extract is contained in a concentration of 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 0.5% by weight to 5% by weight and particularly preferably 2% by weight. Preparation after Claim 1 or 2 , characterized in that it is in the form of a water-containing gel. Preparation according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains a humectant, in particular pentylene glycol. Preparation according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pentylene glycol is contained in a concentration of 0.5% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 2% by weight to 7% by weight and particularly preferably 5% by weight. Preparation according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains witch hazel extract. Preparation after Claim 6 , characterized in that the hammamel extract is contained in a concentration of 0.01% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 0.1% by weight to 2% by weight and particularly preferably 1% by weight. Preparation according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it contains a food coloring. Use of a preparation mixed with food coloring or a cosmetic coloring as in the Claims 1 to 8th described, as an aid in the cleanliness training of children, which causes a learning effect when "buttocks-wiping". Use of a preparation mixed with food coloring or a cosmetic coloring as in the Claims 1 to 8th described as a “marker” for optimal cleaning of the anus. Use of a preparation as in the Claims 1 to 8th as a protective gel for anal intercourse or when using sex toys. Use of a preparation as in the Claims 1 to 8th described as a protective gel for use before a bowel movement.
