Abstract

The present invention relates to a cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation to be applied topically for the care and protection of the skin of the anus, which contains an extract from the Tremella fuciformis fungus and is ideally applied before defecation.

Cleaning the anal area can cause different problems. Healthy people often tend to clean the anus too intensively after a bowel movement and sometimes with toilet paper that is too hard, which can lead to irritation, fissures and inflammation.
People whose mobility is restricted due to illness or being overweight also have the problem that it is difficult to reach the deeper areas of the anus in particular and that they can therefore only be cleaned inadequately. Anal hygiene is particularly challenging in patients with diseases of the anorectum, such as hemorrhoids or anal eczema.

Cleaning methods such as wet wipes, oil-soaked wipes or shower toilets are ecologically problematic, time-consuming to use, expensive or not available everywhere.

There is therefore a need for a solution that improves and facilitates anal hygiene and thus makes going to the toilet more hygienic.

The subject matter of the present invention is a cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparation to be applied topically for the care and protection of the skin of the anus, which contains an extract from the Tremella fuciformis fungus.

With all of the relative or percentage weight-based amounts specified below, it should be noted that these are to be selected within the scope of the compositions according to the invention in such a way that they add up in the composition according to the invention, including all components or ingredients or additives or constituents or Always add excipients to 100% or 100% by weight. Tremella fuciformis is a medicinal and edible mushroom that is particularly popular in Japan and China. The fungus thrives best in tropical and subtropical climates and prefers to grow on mango wood. In Asia, the mushrooms are now often cultivated on a special wooden substrate and sold in dried form on the market.

Its peculiar appearance has given the silver eared bat (Tremella fuciformis) its colloquial name. The fungus is light yellow to whitish in color and has intertwined gelatinous lobes that actually resemble ears.

Tremella fuciformis has a pleasantly sweet smell and a mild and also rather sweet taste. Tremella fuciformis (or White Fungus) plays an important role in traditional Chinese cuisine. Due to its sweet taste, it is very suitable for Asian soups or desserts.

Tremella fuciformis is said to be able to help against diseases such as tuberculosis, colds and high blood pressure and is very often offered in powder or capsule form. External applications of the silver ear or its extracts in the intimate or anal area are not yet known.

According to the invention, the extract known under the INCI name “Tremella Fuciformis Sporocarp Extract” is preferably used. is available from Glory-Actives GmbH, 21514 Güster, Germany.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the preparation is applied to the skin of the anus before defecation.
Advantageously, this facilitates the removal of faecal residues, which can otherwise irritate and stress the skin of the anus (infection through micro-tears in the skin, itching from dried faeces). In addition, the mechanical irritation of the skin caused by the friction of the toilet paper is reduced; there are also no remains of the toilet paper left in the anus, which could also have an irritating effect. In addition, when used before defecation, the anus skin is cared for and the skin is less brittle or tends to crack. When used before defecation, cleaning the anus region is also significantly easier and the preparation according to the invention means that even hard toilet paper can cause less damage from the wiping process.

With diseases such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures or skin tags, there is often a "vicious circle" of inadequate cleaning out of fear of pain, which can then lead to an aggravated clinical picture and even more pain during cleaning. This cycle is broken by using the preparation according to the invention.

It has been shown that the preparation according to the invention has excellent lubricating properties and water-storing properties, thereby facilitating and improving anal hygiene and, in particular, providing effective symptomatic relief during the cleansing process for those suffering from hemorrhoids or similar complaints.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the preparation according to the invention is in the form of an aqueous gel.

In a further particularly preferred embodiment, the preparation according to the invention is in the form of a colored product.

This gel is also particularly compatible with ionic agents. Additional advantages of the aqueous gel formulation are that it avoids oily, greasy or greasy ingredients, is water miscible and clear, thereby avoiding staining or soiling of clothing. It can also be easily washed off the user's hands. The preparation according to the invention shows very good water-storing properties after application to the anus and thus provides a long-term lubricating effect up to and during defecation. Yet another benefit is that the high water content has a cooling and soothing effect on the user, thus providing improved symptomatic relief.

The Tremella fuciformis extract is preferably contained in the preparation according to the invention in a concentration of 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 0.5% by weight to 5% by weight and particularly preferably 2% by weight.

The preparation according to the invention preferably contains a humectant, in particular pentylene glycol.

Pentylene glycol is a chemically manufactured humectant that is approved worldwide as a cosmetic ingredient. It was originally based on the unripe juice of sugar beets, but synthetic production is now standard. The usual processes include the hydrogenation of furfural with molecular hydrogen and iron(II) chloride over a so-called platinum catalyst.

Pentylene glycol is one of the substances containing hydroxyl groups, such as ethanol, glycerin and sorbitol. It is a water-miscible, colorless and viscous liquid that has a boiling point of 242 degrees Celsius.

Pentylene glycol is widely used as a solvent and as a plasticizer in the plastics industry, but is not classified as hazardous to health or toxic because the substance cannot be detected in urine or human tissue. It is therefore considered harmless. Thanks to the very good tolerability, sensitization of the skin is virtually impossible. Another immensely important advantage of pentylene glycol is that, in contrast to conventional alcohol, there is no drying effect even with a higher dosage.

Pentylene glycol is preferably contained in the preparation according to the invention in a concentration of 0.5% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 2% by weight to 7% by weight and particularly preferably 5% by weight.

In order to provide optimal lubricating and dispensing properties, it is preferred that the Tremella fuciformis extract as well as the other ingredients of the composition of the invention are employed in an amount such that the preferred gel formulation has a viscosity of from about 25,000 cP (25,000 mPas) to about 150,000 cP (150,000 mPa.s) at 20°C (as measured using spindle 596 at 10 rpm on a Brookfield DVII+). Preferably, the viscosity is in the range of 40,000 to 100,000 cps (40,000 to 100,000 mPa.s) at 20°C.

In a further preferred embodiment, the preparation according to the invention comprises a film former, preferably pullulan, preferably in a concentration of 0.5% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 2% by weight to 7% by weight and particularly preferably 5% by weight.

The water present in the formulation advantageously provides a cooling effect in use and can be adjusted relative to the amounts of the other ingredients, particularly that of the Tremella fuciformis extract, to give the gel a satisfactory viscosity. It is preferred that the viscosity be high enough so that the gel is not too runny so that it sticks to the anus when applied, but low enough so that the gel can be satisfactorily dispensed from a tube or other dispenser.

In another preferred embodiment, the preparation according to the invention contains hamamelis extract (INCI: glycerin + aqua + hamamelis virginiana leaf extract). Witch hazel extract has astringent properties. Astringents, when applied to the skin or mucous membranes, are effective in a local and localized effect. Astringents coagulate the protein in skin cells, thereby protecting the underlying tissue and reducing cell volume. When used appropriately, astringents reduce mucus and other secretions and help reduce localized anorectal irritation and inflammation.

Hamamelis extract is preferably contained in the preparation according to the invention in a concentration of 0.01% by weight to 10% by weight, in particular 0.1% by weight to 2% by weight and particularly preferably 1% by weight.

Hamamelis extract is prepared, for example, by macerating recently cut and partially dried dormant branches of Hamamelis virginiana L in water, distilling and adding the necessary amount of ethanol to the distillate, e.g. B. produced about 13 to 15% v/v.

According to the invention, the preparation may contain other ingredients and active ingredients, particularly other astringents, vasoconstrictors, topical steroid anti-inflammatory agents such as hydrocortisone or prednisolone, and/or local anesthetics to provide symptomatic relief and/or alleviate the pain associated with defecation. Preferably such active ingredients are water soluble (e.g. ionic), in which case the carrier base allows for a more rapid onset of action by keeping the active ingredients in solution.
Examples of other astringents that can be used are zinc oxide and calamine.

The preparation according to the invention is preferably formulated as a crystal-clear gel, since the clarity of the gel suggests purity and cleanliness to the user, which promotes consumer confidence in the product.

Examples of vasoconstrictors that can be used are phenylephrine hydrochloride, ephedrine sulfate, adrenaline and adrenaline hydrochloride. The preferred vasoconstrictor is phenylephrine hydrochloride in an amount up to about 0.35% by weight of the total composition, e.g. B. about 0.1 to about 0.3% by weight, preferably about 0.25% by weight.

Local anesthetics which can be added to the preparation according to the invention are selected from benzocaine (e.g. 5 to 20% by weight), benzyl alcohol (e.g. 1 to 4% by weight), dibucaine (HCl) (e.g 0.25 to 1% by weight), lidocaine (e.g. 0.5 to 5% by weight), pramoxine hydrochloride (e.g. about 1% by weight) and tetracaine (HCl) ( e.g. 0.5 to 1% by weight).

The preparation according to the invention can also contain antioxidants and preservatives. Preferred antioxidants are sodium citrate (0.3-20%), sodium bisulfite (0.01-1%) and disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate (0.005-0.1%), with the numbers in parentheses indicating the preferred concentrations. Preferred preservatives are methyl and/or propyl p-hydroxybenzoate.

Depending on the type of formulation, the preparation according to the invention can contain at least one further auxiliary or additive.

Substances that absorb and largely retain odor-forming compounds are suitable as odor absorbers. They lower the partial pressure of the individual components and thus also reduce their speed of propagation. It is important that perfumes must remain unaffected. Odor absorbers are not effective against bacteria. Substances suitable and approved for cosmetic purposes can be used as dyes, such as those compiled in the publication “Cosmetic dyes” by the Dye Commission of the German Research Foundation, Verlag Chemie, Weinheim, 1984, pp. 81-106. These dyes are usually used in concentrations of 0.001 to 1.0% by weight, based on the mixture as a whole.

The total proportion of auxiliaries and additives can be 1 to 90% by weight, preferably 5 to 70% by weight, particularly preferably 10-35% by weight, based on the preparation. The cosmetic or pharmaceutical preparations can be produced by customary cold or hot processes with or without high-pressure homogenization; the phase inversion temperature method is preferably used.

A further object of the present invention is a process for producing a preparation according to the invention, characterized in that an extract from the fungus Tremella fuciformis, as described for the preparations according to the invention, is mixed with cosmetically or pharmacologically suitable and tolerable carriers.

Another object of the present invention is the use of a preparation according to the invention in the field of pharmacy or medicine for the dermatological care of the skin of the anus and for improving the condition of the skin of the anus.

A further object of the present invention is the use of a preparation according to the invention to which food coloring or a cosmetic coloring has been added as an aid in the toilet training of children, which causes a learning effect when “wiping the buttocks”.

Another object of the present invention is the use of a preparation according to the invention to which food coloring or a cosmetic coloring has been added as a “marker” for optimal cleaning of the anus.

Another object of the present invention is the use of a preparation according to the invention as a protective gel for anal intercourse or when using sex toys.

Claims (12)
