TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

An eyeliner is an applicator with which a so-called eyeliner can be drawn on the eyelid.

Usually said eyeliner is applied to the upper eyelid immediately above the lash arch, which is clearly preferred. Occasionally, it can also be applied to the lower eyelid. Such eyelid lines are carried out differently. Where the emphasis on the eye should be more natural and should not come too much into the foreground, there is usually an eyeliner with a less sharp edge demarcation.

The situation is different in cases in which the eye is to be emphasized in order to appear spectacular, for example in the manner of a deer eye or a cat's eye.

Particularly where the eye needs to be emphasized, eyeliners are in demand with which a sharply contoured eyeliner can be drawn.

Eyeliners are known in the prior art in the most varied of embodiments.

In some cases, eyeliners in the form of brushes are used. A brush is a very universally usable application organ that allows the user many degrees of freedom.

For example, a brush can be used to create a smooth transition on the edges of the eyeliner. However, drawing a sharp line with a brush is relatively demanding and requires a steady hand.

The application of the eyeliner is often found to be easier if, instead of an eyeliner brush, one uses an eyeliner sponge that is usually kept in a style.

Otherwise, eyeliners that are built like a pencil are very often used.

A lead from the cosmetic to be applied is held by a sleeve that is usually made of wood and can therefore be sharpened with a commercially available sharpener.

The soft lead of such an eyeliner, which can be kept pointed without great effort, allows an application with sharp contours. Nevertheless, a steady hand is required to apply the eyeliner, because the lead must, insofar as it is no different than a brush, be guided continuously from one edge of the eyelid to the other without being separated.

What all these solutions have in common is that a certain amount of time is required to apply the eyeliner.

THE PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION

The invention is based on the problem of specifying an eyeliner with which a sharply contoured eyeliner can be applied more quickly and even for inexperienced users.

THE SOLUTION ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION

According to claim 1, an eyeliner for applying an eyeliner to the eyelid is proposed to solve the said problem, said eyeliner having a capillary applicator for applying the cosmetic producing the eyeliner through direct skin contact.

A capillary applicator in the context of the invention is understood to mean an applicator which is formed by a solid body, that is not by individual bristles.

Said solid body is fibrous or porous in such a way that it can pick up the cosmetic to be applied from a supply and pass it on through its interior to the surface with which cosmetic is applied through direct skin contact.

The eyeliner according to the invention also has a supply of cosmetic which feeds the capillary applicator.

According to the invention, the capillary applicator then has a broad tip with a tip width of at least 15 mm, which determines the length of the eyeliner or stamp imprint on the eyelid, and a tip height of at most 4 mm. The free end face of the eyeliner according to the invention, which as intended releases cosmetic to the eyelid through direct skin contact, has a concave profile in the width direction. A concave course is not only mentioned, but in any case, when the deepest point of the concave surface is lower than its raised edges by more than 10% of the freely projecting length of the capillary applicator.

The eyeliner according to the invention thus has a broad tip, the contour of which is adapted to the course of the eyelid. At the same time, the contour essentially corresponds to the contour of the eyeliner to be applied.

At this point it should be mentioned that there are - depending on the application - different options for a particularly efficient configuration of the tip, as will be described later on the basis of the exemplary embodiments illustrated by the figures.

As a result of this configuration, the applicator according to the invention can be used in the manner of a stamp: the eyeliner is simply placed on the eyelid where the eyeliner is to be created. Because of its concave curvature, the free face of the eyeliner, which is intended to be used for applying the cosmetic, can follow the natural course of the eyelid, at least in sections. It can therefore be brought into full contact with the eyelid very easily.

Due to the appropriately set capillary action of the broad tip, so much cosmetic is available on the free face of the eyeliner, either unbound or without a firm bond to the broad tip, that this cosmetic is transferred from the free face to the skin areas of the eyelid to be treated and remains there , so is deducted from the free face as soon as the free face has been pressed against the eyelid and then lifted off again.

This has two effects.

On the one hand, an eyeliner can be applied over a not inconsiderable part of the eyelid (e.g. over at least 50% of the horizontal length of the eyelid) or even over the entire eyelid with a single “stamping” in a single operation.

On the other hand, “stamping” an eyeliner with sharp contours is very easy, because, depending on how firmly the eyeliner is pressed, the eyeliner has a high level of definition by itself, as is characteristic of a stamp imprint.

However, this does not mean that the applicator according to the invention is restricted to stamping or applying sharply contoured eyelid lines. Rather, the user is of course free to press the applicator according to the invention a little less firmly after contact with the stamp and then to move the eyelid up and down in order to subsequently dissolve the sharpness of the contours initially achieved by the stamping technique.

The inventive combination of the capillary applicator with the supply, and the measure that the capillary applicator is permanently in contact with the cosmetics supply and is permanently supplied by it, results in a particularly good stamping function, since a long period of time is preferably available (in the long Periods between two usage processes) within which the cosmetic can be promoted to the "stamp area".

PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Ideally, the capillary applicator consists of a tangled and / or chaotically arranged fiber material. In this way, it is possible for the capillary applicator to suck in cosmetic from the surroundings or from the fiber reservoir in contact with it in the area of its flag over its main surfaces, due to its capillary action.

Since the main surfaces of the capillary applicator also offer an extremely large contact surface precisely where it forms the flag, a strong capillary conveying effect of the capillary applicator is ensured in this way. This also applies if the cosmetic cannot wander freely in the storage container in a flowable form, but is kept absorbed in a fiber reservoir or another porous material until it is fed into the capillary applicator.

Ideally, the fiber storage unit consists of a structure which is flat before assembly and which comprises only two or at least two tabs. One of these flaps lies flat against a first main surface of the capillary applicator with a flat surface, at least where it forms the flag. The other flap with its likewise flat surface rests flat against the second main surface of the capillary applicator, at least where it forms the flag. In this way, an intensive contact is established between the fiber storage and the capillary applicator, which enables a very effective capillary exchange.

Ideally, the two tabs, together with the flag lying between them, are then introduced into a container section via the opening at the end of the container.

Alternatively, the flaps are first folded, then inserted into the opening of a container section at the end and then penetrated by the flag of the suction cup or flat suction cup in the area of the slot formed between them. The latter leads to a particularly good capillary-conducting connection.

In both cases, and especially in the latter case, it can be advantageous if the cloths forming the reservoir with the cosmetic material are loaded with the cosmetic material to be stored by them only after they have been introduced into the container section with the aid of one or more injection needles.

It is particularly beneficial if the tabs, the clear cross-section of the container section receiving them and the tab are matched to one another in such a way that the container section presses the tabs against the tab of the capillary applicator - sufficiently firmly to enable intensive capillary exchange.

The capillary applicator is expediently also given mechanical support via its flag. This ensures that the capillary applicator cannot be displaced relative to the container section even if it is pressed a little more firmly against the eyelid.

With such a small thickness it is the case with many capillary materials that the core portion of the capillary applicator, which shows only a smaller capillary action, is reduced in favor of the edge showing a stronger capillary effect. Such a capillary material is preferably selected. This increases the amount of cosmetic ready for dabbing on the free face of the capillary applicator used for application through skin contact.

A special design of the capillary applicator, which can be used, for example, to skillfully rework local defects in the paint application, can have a convex tip instead of a concave tip. Protection is also claimed for using such an applicator for stamping by means of a rocking movement on the area of skin to be stamped, so that the paint application by means of stamping does not take place everywhere at the same time but more than just slightly offset in time.

According to the invention, the capillary action is preferably measured using the so-called Faca method, which is described in more detail below.

A sponge-like material that is more than insignificantly compressible is usually not a capillary material within the meaning of the invention. According to the invention, the stamping should take place by means of a cosmetic product that can be removed from the contact surface, not mainly by “pressing” cosmetic material out of a (flexible) spongy structure that does not allow application with sharp contours.

CAPPLIARITY MEASUREMENT METHOD

In order to achieve the capillary values claimed according to the invention, the test method described below is generally or always used.

To determine the properties of a capillary tip with a certain ink, the use of the ink intended for the combination is to be preferred or used, as it is the best way of predicting the properties of the subsequent product.

For the general inspection of the materials for the tip (and also for the reservoir), however, a simple, standardized ink that can be easily reproduced can also be used.

Such an ink can be composed as follows.

Test ink Ethanol 99.8% pure 10% Glycerine 99.5% PH. 10% EUR. DAB Phenoxyethanol 1% D&C Red No. 28 1% Water, demineralized 78% 100%

Physical parameters for this ink are: PH value: 7.37 +/- 1.0 Viscosity: 2.25 mPas +/- 0.5 Surface tension: 44.7 mN / m +/- 4.0 Density: 1.014 g / cm ³ +/- 0.02

If necessary, the viscosity of the ink can be adjusted a little via the proportion of glycerine.

However, it should not be less than 10%.

Required material:

• - 30g test ink of the type defined at the beginning
• - 250ml beaker (diameter 7.0cm, height 9.5cm)
• - Test strips made of the tip material to be tested (10.0 cm high x 2.5 cm wide, markings at 1.0 cm - 9.0 cm high)
• - thin wire (length approx. 15.0 cm)
• - Cannula (brown) 1.20 x 40mm
• - stopwatch

Method:

• - Cut test strips from the tip material to be tested with clean and sharp scissors (H 10.0 cm x W 2.5 cm). Make sure that the test strips are not kinked or squeezed.
• - On the long side of the test strip at the edge, draw markings from 1.0 cm to 8.0 cm in the middle of the 2.5 cm wide side of the test strip at a height of 9.5 cm pierce a hole with a cannula (see Fig. 1)
• - Pass a thin wire through the hole in the test strip; the wire with the test strip must lie on the upper edge of the beaker before the ink is filled in so that the test strip just touches the bottom of the beaker
• - Carefully pour 30g of air bubble-free test ink into a 250ml beaker - without wetting the test strip above its immersion area - filling height approx. 1.0cm (see Fig. 4)
• - Have a stopwatch ready
• - Carefully place the wire with the test strip in the middle of the beaker rim and start the stopwatch (see Fig. 5)
• - Determine the measured values of the flow height after 4 minutes (or if the ascent is too rapid above 2.5 cm / minute, alternatively after 2 minutes) and calculate the average flow rate per minute.
• - the measurements should be carried out with at least one double determination

The tip material to be tested is particularly well suited for carrying out the invention if the test ink in it shows an average flow or rise speed which is preferably 1.3 to 3.3 cm / min and ideally 2.0 to 2 , 5 cm / min.
