The invention relates to a toe board for scaffolding, designed for three-part side protection on scaffold entrances / stair towers, in order to comprehensively secure these areas against falling of persons and falling objects.

Work scaffolds are needed for numerous applications in building construction. These must ensure both the safety of the craftsman working on the structure and the protection of persons in the vicinity of the scaffolding from falling objects and the like. In this regard, various legal regulations must be observed, in Europe in particular the DIN EN 12811-1.

Irrespective of the specific conditions of use, so-called toe boards are often mounted on scaffolding in accordance with binding regulations in order to prevent people from slipping or objects falling from scaffolding floors or platforms. Such boards are made of wooden boards, metal profiles or composite materials in a length that corresponds to the scaffold floor or the pitch of the pedestal. The toe board is connected in various ways to the scaffold. Thus, fittings can be provided at the two end-side end portions of a board board, with which the toe board is connected to the framework or with another toe board. Such constructions are known for approved scaffolds in various designs and have proven to be fundamentally successful. On the other hand, for higher scaffoldings, where stairway segments have to be used instead of ladders for safety reasons, no technical solutions have been available so far. However, such scaffolds are needed for numerous works, e.g. to equip round or polygonal towers from outside or inside to erect scaffolding on other irregularly shaped building surfaces and in principle also for facade scaffolding with a height of 10 meters or more. For this purpose, the known toe boards can not (or only partially) be used.

The object of the invention is therefore to modify the construction of a toe board so that a use for stair segments on particular high scaffolding is possible. It should be created across the board, a toe board, which allows a three-part side protection accordingly DIN EN 12811-1 to use for scaffolding access / stair towers for the first time and to comprehensively protect these areas against falling of persons and falling objects.

This object is achieved in that the toe board has three contour sections, wherein a first, horizontally extending lower section merges into a second, obliquely upwardly extending section and wherein the second section merges into a third, again horizontally extending upper section and wherein the first, horizontally extending lower portion and the third, horizontally extending upper portion are each configured with a fitting at their end-side end portions, which is releasably connectable to a respective adjacently arranged and geometrically congruent designed fitting on the associated frame component. With the embodiment according to the invention, a toe board is created for preferential use on staircase segments of high scaffolding. For the first time, a toe board becomes available across systems, which makes it possible to use an effective three-part side guard according to DIN EN 12811-1 for scaffolding access / stair towers and to comprehensively protect these areas against falling of persons and falling objects.
