Damit auch der Neigungswinkel möglichst leicht eingehalten werden kann und gleichzeitig Platz für die Scheibenachse mittig, oberhalb der Zahnung geschaffen wird, ist sowohl die Zahnstruktur als auch die unmittelbar darüber liegende Fläche abgeschrägt. Damit entfällt das sonst notwendige Vorüberbeugen des Spachtels. Die Aufgabe der Massenverdichtung vor den Kerben wird durch die Abschrägung erwirkt.
