1. Technical description

The Kung Fu School Wetzlar e. V. teaches Wing Chun Kung Fu and Escrima, our masters and trainers have been trained in centuries-old martial arts tradition. Thus come as a sporty training equipment traditionally Escrima sticks (i.D. R. 70 cm long, commercially available for purchase) and u. a. also the specially shaped and described below "Escrima training knife" used. Escrima is an original Filipino martial arts system.

The Escrima training knife used by us in the club is made individually according to the technical design, and not with conventional training knives (eg training knife with straight blade shape or eg., "Karambit" -Trainingsmesser) comparable.

• 3. Auf den Metallkörper sind beidseitig Griffschalen montiert (g), auch hier je nach Handgröße des Sportlers zwischen 7 und 9 cm lang. Die Dicke/Stärke der Griffschalen beträgt jeweils 4 bis 6 mm. Als Material wird Holz oder Gummi verwendet. Die Griffschalen sind verschraubt oder vernietet (i).
• 4. Die Klinge des Trainingsmessers ist 7 bis 9 cm lang (d), der Griffbereich (g) und hintere ringförmige Teil (e2) ebenfalls 7 bis 9 cm – je nach Handgröße des Sportlers.
• 5. Das Alleinstellungsmerkmal des Troainingsmessers ist vor allem die einzigartige Ausformung der Klinge (e1), die sowohl am Messerrücken als auch der Beuge (f) das effektive Stoppen, Blockieren bzw. Fixieren der im Partner-Training eingesetzten Escrima-Stöcke ermöglicht. An einer geraden Messerklinge würde der Escrima-Stock abrutschen, was u. a. auch zu Trainingsverletzungen führen könnte. Die besondere Messer-Form schützt den Sportler.
• 6. Ebenfalls einzigartig ist die dünnere Ausformung des Ringes an der Stelle (h), welches ein geschlossenes, festes Halten über die gesamte Grifflänge (g) bis (e2) ermöglicht.
