The two metal rods are attached to the handle of the corkscrew. The fastening system consists of a recess in the handle, into which the two rods are inserted, and a rectangular wooden prism, which is inserted into the recess and holds the rods in place.

The handle (between 15 cm and 7 cm, preferably about 11 cm long, between 5 cm and 1.5 cm, best about 2 cm high) has on one side in the middle of a recess (between 30 mm and 12 mm, on best about 18 mm long, between 15 mm and 4 mm, best about 5.8 mm high and between 50 mm and 10 mm, best about 15 mm deep). The two metal rods are each attached to the outer end of the cut into the handle of the corkscrew recess. The distance between the two bars is between 29 mm and 6 mm, preferably about 15 mm. The rods are arranged opposite each other and with their broad sides facing each other at a distance of 29 mm to 6 mm, preferably approximately 15 mm. A rectangular prism made of wood of suitable size is pressed into the cut-out slot of the handle, and thus the two bars are held. The other side of the handle is free, so you can take it comfortably in your hand. (See letters A, B, C and D in the drawing).

The two metal bars have a flat or semicircular section and are bent slightly outward by about 10 degrees (see the accompanying drawing the letters B and C); This allows the rods to be pushed more easily into the neck of the bottle. This also causes their end part to be automatically directed to the walls of the bottle neck after insertion, not to the cork. In this way, the cork is not damaged, whether it is a cork made of natural or synthetic material.

At the end of the two metal bars are rounded so that the cork is not damaged during insertion into the bottle neck.

The two bars are chamfered on the inside - that is, on the side facing each other - so that any damage to the cork during insertion of the bars into the neck of the bottle is avoided; H. when the rods are pushed into the space between the inside of the bottle neck and the cork.

If the handle of the corkscrew is made of plastic, the two bars are provided with holes throughout, where they are inserted into the recess. Instructions:

Constructive procedure:

If the handle of the corkscrew (see enclosed drawing letter A) is made of wood, proceed as follows:

Then comes the work to fine grinding and smoothing of the two rectangular prisms, and finally the painting and drying.

The two metal bars are perforated so that they have a better grip in the plastic handle, the number of holes is from 2 to 10.

The metal bars are then cut with a cutting press. They form the actual extraction mechanism of the corkscrew. (See letters B and C on the enclosed drawing).

The bars are ground smooth and deburred.
