Description

The invention relates to a handle device for a hand shower.

Hand showers are well known in the art. They are used, for example, in showers and bathtubs and allow flexible spray handling over stationary shower heads. Often they are therefore installed in the shower area in addition to a shower head.

In practice, the hand shower for showering and inserted between the shower ducts in an associated wall bracket. For selective rinsing the hand shower is removed from the wall bracket and taken in the hand. The use of a hand shower in everyday life is a particular challenge, especially for the elderly or people with physical limitations. This is especially true when people with physical disabilities are restricted in their ability to grasp. In particular, the invention is directed, but not limited, to this group of users.

The invention has for its object to simplify the use of hand showers, in particular for people with physical restriction.

This object is achieved by a handle device for a hand shower, wherein the handle device has a support portion having at its one end a first attachment means and at its other end a second attachment means.

The invention provides new possibilities for handling conventional hand showers. The latter can be easily retrofitted with the handle device according to the invention. For this purpose, the first and the second mounting portion are fixed in spaced relation to the hand shower. The grip device includes with the hand shower a receiving portion through which the user's hand can grip. The receiving portion may in particular be such that the holding portion holds the user's hand (in particular, preferably the back of the hand) such that at least short-term handling of the handheld shower is also possible without the user firmly grasping the handle of the handheld showerhead with his hand. This opens up a whole new field of handling. The invention not only provides a way of handling a hand shower for people with a physical disability (eg, the hand). The invention also provides a special relief for caregivers of patients who often have to perform several activities at a time when showering their patients.

The gripping device according to the invention can be attached to the hand shower in different ways. It is considered particularly advantageous if the two fastening devices at least partially surround the hand shower. Hand showers regularly have a connection for the shower hose at their rear end. For attachment of the handle device, the first attachment means between the connection of the shower hose and the hand shower is arranged. The size adjustment also allows use with different cross sections of shower handles.

A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the second attachment means has a first end and a second end and that the first and second ends are engageable with each other. The two ends are preferably wrapped around the handle of the hand shower, one end on one side and the other on the other side. To create a bond and fixing the handle device to the hand shower - or preferably its handle - the two ends are brought into engagement with each other. It should be noted in this connection that an end is not understood to mean exclusively a distal end in the sense of an outer end section. Rather, the ends can also be elongated and, for example, designed as tabs.

Preferably, the two ends are connectable by mold closure. In the test phase, a construction has proven in which the first or the second end has a tooth structure. The tooth structure engages in a closure of the other end. When closing the fastening device, the end with the tooth structure is pulled through the closure of the other end. This reduces the cross section, which returns without tension (or substantially again) in its original state. In this, the tooth structure is held firmly in the closure of the other end.

The grip device should be such that it is as simple as possible in its design and handling and at the same time ergonomic and reliable. Advantageously, the support portion is curved. The handle device expediently has a dimensionally stable basic structure which, together with the handle of the hand shower, forms a hand receptacle for the user's hand. The curvature allows ergonomic support of the user's hand.
