Abstract
Flexible, bituminous borehole sealing for the repair and sealing of test boreholes in asphalt, characterized in that a round, soft bitumen disc (1) is present.
Description
In road construction, tests of the asphalt layers have to be carried out again and again. For this purpose, holes with different diameters are drilled in the asphalt. The holes are closed again, but only last for a short time. After some time, settlements are created which destroy the bond between asphalt stock and filling material. Surface water flows through the open edge of the hole into the underlying asphalt layers and fills the cavities with water. In winter, this water freezes and severely damages the asphalt. Also road users such. B. Cyclists can come when crossing the damaged areas, in darkness, come to harm. For every road user these damages (in the form of circular holes) are clearly visible. To date, it has not yet been possible to find a solution to this problem.
The protection specified in

If there is damage on the road now, after the damage has been dried and cleaned, the bitumen seal can be glued to the damaged area, with the smaller disc (it is needed to compensate for settling) fitted snugly into the annulus of the old hole. The larger disc overlaps the old hole by a few centimeters. This creates a surface seal of the damaged area. Due to the flexible nature of the discs, the pressure of the tires is cushioned. There are no further subsidence, and the asphalt surface is protected against ingress of water. To ensure the safety of the road users when driving over the seal, the surface is split off, which increases the grip enormously.
