Dadurch ist es möglich, die Sende/Empfangs-Einheit an einer Stelle zu plazieren, wo die Strahlungsgefährdung nicht so hoch ist. Mit der Kommunikations-Einheit, welche unter anderem die Tastatur, die Anzeige, den Lautsprecher und das Mikrofon beinhaltet, kann hingegen auf ganz normale Weise so telefoniert werden, als hätte man es mit einem herkömmlichen Mobiltelefon zu tun, in dessen Gehäuse sowohl die Kommunikations-Einheit als auch die Sende/Empfangs-Einheit enthalten ist.
