The invention relates to a patient transport seat with a seat, a backrest and a base frame provided with wheels.

Ambulance seats are always needed when frail or sick people, for example in old people’s homes, but also from their homes to the hospital.

In principle, all applications must be taken into account in which the people themselves cannot walk quickly enough, but transport in a lying position is either not possible because only one assistant is present or because of spatial constraints. In particular, it must be taken into account that stairs must also be overcome in the downward direction. In the upward direction, the people are usually healthy, they are in a hospital where elevators are available, or there is more time available. ;

Furthermore, the patient transport seat should take up as little space as possible when it is not needed. It is therefore very desirable that it can be easily dismantled or folded up.

The invention solves these problems with a patient transport seat having the features of claim 1. The Uhteran-

claims represent advantageous embodiments.

It is particularly advantageous that one person can easily move the patient transport seat over horizontal floors, but the seat can also be moved down stairs by simply folding one or two of the rear wheels into a position above a stair transport crawler belt. The seat can also continue to serve as a seat for a patient during the journey in the patient transport vehicle.

Advantageously, the rear wheel is designed to be foldable with a bracket so that, while both hands are on the backrest to bring the seat into the appropriate position, the wheel can also be brought back into the transport position for horizontal forward rolling.

A first disc is provided with recesses at an angle of approximately 170°, which represents the swivel angle of the seat back up to the front wheels or up to the front section of the stair conveyor belt. The second disc, in which a much shorter slot of approximately 30° is provided, represents the swivel range of the seat surface also up to a position in the area of the front wheels near the conveyor belt, which occurs at a much smaller angle.

The bolts for reaching through the front discs are mounted in the middle of the four discs.

The last disc is provided with short bolt stubs, which engage in three corresponding holes as soon as the discs are placed next to each other. With a single movement, this disc can be loosened from the anchorage with the third disc, so that the rear wheels can be brought into a new position in which

The patient transport seat according to the invention, the stair transport functionality of which is shown in Fig. 1, consists of a seat surface 10, a two-part, horizontally divided backrest 12, 14 and a base frame 18, 20 provided with three or preferably four wheels 16, with one wide or two narrow stair transport crawler belts 22 arranged diagonally under the seat shell elements so that after folding away the rear wheel(s), the seat can be pulled down or possibly up a staircase on the crawler belt(s) 22 which are then exposed. The crawler belt rests on at least two step edges, while the front ¹ wheels no longer have any contact with the stairs.

This means that the stair transport crawler belt is arranged behind the front wheels so that there is no contact with the horizontal floor when rolling on it and rear wheels are arranged on a pivotable part of the undercarriage so that they can be pivoted next to a first position and for horizontal rolling of the transport seat in a second position in which they are arranged above the stair transport crawler belt.

To fold the seat, the backrest 12, 14 is folded around a horizontal axis with the upholstery sides facing each other. The backrest can then be folded onto the seat 10, which in turn can be folded onto the front wheels of the stair transport crawler belt 22 with the other elements, so that the dimensions of the crawler belt(s) are only slightly exceeded.

A profile with seat cushions and foamed cushioning surfaces clamped into the profile is proposed.

Advantageously, the rear wheel(s) 16 are designed to be pivotable by means of a lever (not shown) from their position above the stair climbing belt into their position for horizontally rolling the patient transport seat downwards.

The proposed folding joint consists of four adjacent discs, which are connected to the components of the patient transport seat, backrest, seat, rear wheel attachment and stair transport crawler

band simultaneously connected to the frame for the front wheels and which are provided with part-circular grooves and correspondingly engaging bolts for limiting the pivoting, whereby they are rotatable relative to one another in a position in which they are spaced apart from one another and are blocked relative to one another in a second position in which they are close to one another.

Additional segment elevations or segment recesses running radially next to the grooves and bolts lock the discs against each other when they are in close contact.

Claims (9)

1. Patient transport seat with a seat ( 10 ), a backrest ( 12 , 14 ) and a base frame ( 18 , 20 ) provided with wheels ( 16 ), characterized by at least one stair transport crawler belt ( 22 ). 2. Patient transport seat according to claim 1, characterized in that the stair transport crawler belt ( 22 ) is arranged behind the front wheels ( 16 ) so that when the seat rolls on a horizontal floor there is no contact with the latter and rear wheels ( 16 ) are arranged on a pivotable part of the undercarriage so that they can be pivoted next to a first position and for horizontal rolling of the transport seat in a second position in which they are arranged above the stair transport crawler belt ( 22 ). 3. Patient transport seat, characterized in that the backrest ( 12 , 14 ) is in two parts and can be folded together about a horizontal axis. 4. Patient transport seat according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the backrest ( 12 , 14 ) can be folded onto the seat surface ( 10 ). 5. Patient transport seat according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the seat surface ( 10 ) can be folded onto the front wheels of the stair transport crawler belt ( 22 ). 6. Patient transport seat according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the rear wheel or wheels ( 16 ) can be pivoted by means of a lever from their position above the stair crawler belt ( 22 ) into their position for horizontal rolling of the patient transport seat downwards. 7. A patient transport seat according to any one of the preceding claims, with a joint consisting of four adjacent discs which are connected to the components of the patient transport seat, backrest, seat, rear wheel attachment and stair conveyor belt at the same time frame for the front wheels and which are provided with part-circular grooves and correspondingly engaging bolts to limit the pivoting, whereby they are rotatable relative to one another in a position in which they are spaced apart from one another and are blocked relative to one another in a second position in which they are close to one another. 8. Joint for a patient transport seat according to claim 7, characterized in that, in addition to the grooves and bolts, radially extending segment elevations or segment recesses are provided for locking the discs against one another. 9. Patient transport seat according to one of the preceding claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the backrest consists of a profile of foamed aluminum with recessed seat cushions and foamed cushion surfaces clamped into the profile.
