Description
The invention relates to eir. Conveyor belt, in particular for systems for the production of chipboard, fiberboard and the like .. where the conveyor belt around a deposit nose with a small radius of curvature is guided, consisting of an endless plastic web Made of thermoplastic with embedded fabric reinforcement, the warp thread of which is in Conveyor belt longitudinal rich and the weft threads run transversely thereto, the plastic web and the Fabric reinforcement with a common butt seam have ends connected to one another and the butt seam is covered by additional connecting means.
In a known conveyor belt of a similar type (cf. German Patent 477 293) there is ei ■; Conveyor belt made of a rubber-impregnated fabric web, the butt ends of which are connected by means of cords running from one end of the conveyor belt to the other. A rubber-impregnated fabric web, which has been freed from shear threads, is then vulcanized onto this connection point. In particular with high loads and extremely small radius of curvature (e.g. only a few millimeters), premature wear and breakage of the overlap seam are observed on the laying nose 1 . The repair of the break requires shortening and is also expensive. Above all, the interruption of the finished product caused by breakage and repair disturbs the entire system in which the conveyor belt is integrated. The measures described above also lead to a relatively strong thickening of the conveyor belt in the area of the joint.
In the case of conveyor belts of a different kind (see British PattMitschrift 242 405) it is known to cut the ends of the To connect the conveyor belt in the area of the joint by means of clamps and the connection point to cover with a support or (see. German Patent 533 399) the joint by means of flexible To bridge lugs, which by means of screw bolts' .- n are connected to the ends. For conveyor belts that need to be deflected around extremely small Experienced radii of curvature, these measures are not suitable. This applies accii to the measures (See British Patent 753 291). on the ends of a conveyor belt one bridging these ends Slide on the sleeve and sew the connection together.
The invention is based on the object of a conveyor belt of the type described at the outset to set up the connection in such a way that even extremely small radii of curvature are avoided be able. .ihne that premature wear occurs in the area of the connection point.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that a section of the plastic sheet is used as a connecting strip on the underside of the diagonally to the transport direction of the conveyor belt Butt seam is welded on. the weft threads of the fabric reinforcement of the connecting strip in Transport direction and their warp threads run transversely to the transport direction.
The advantages achieved are to be seen in the fact that with a conveyor belt according to the invention also extremely small radii of curvature can be folded over. This is due to the fact that the low elasticity from one on top of the other conveyor belt and connecting strips in the area of the higher elasticity of the combustion scattering towards the weft is compensated. The conveyor belt is also suitable for extreme loads. The service life of the welded joint essentially corresponds to the service life of the conveyor belt all in all. All of this is especially true when following a special proposal of the invention the fabric reinforcement of the connecting strip and / or the conveyor belt is made of plastic monofilament.
