The innovation relates to a box according to the generic term of protection claim 1.

The aim of the innovation is to show a box that can be adapted to requirements in terms of size while being simple to design and inexpensive to manufacture. To solve this problem, a box is designed in accordance with claim 1.

In the simplest case, the box according to the invention consists of a base element and a closure element that closes off this base element at its front, but preferably of several identically shaped base elements and at least one closure element at one end of the box formed by the base elements that are connected to one another in a stack. Further developments of the innovation are the subject of the subclaims. The invention is explained in more detail below using the figures of an exemplary embodiment. They show:

Fig. 1 shows a simplified perspective view of three elements of a collection box according to the innovation;

The box, generally designated 1 in the figures, is used to collect or store disc-shaped data carriers in the form of CDs 2. In the simplest case, the box consists of a base element 3, which in the embodiment shown consists of an essentially rectangular wall 4 and a peripheral edge 5 protruding over one side of this wall 4, which is omitted at 6 on one peripheral side of the wall 4. This peripheral side forms the side 6 of the box 1, on which the respective CD can be inserted and removed. On the top of the base element 3, the wall 4 has a recess in which the edge 5 is also missing, so that a handle opening or recess 7 is formed there. Furthermore, the dimensions of the base element 3 are selected such that after a CD 2 has been inserted, it is completely accommodated in the space formed by the wall 4 and the edge 5 and only protrudes from the interior of the box 1 with a narrow edge region in the area of the recess 7, which is provided in the middle between the open side 6 and the opposite side closed by the edge 5.

A strip-shaped spacer 8 is provided along the upper and lower edges, each of which runs perpendicular to the side 6, which preferably forms a soft support for the outer edge area of the CD. Spacers 8 are also provided on the other surface side of the wall 4 that does not have the edge 5, in such a way that two spacers 8 are congruently opposite each other on different sides of the wall 4. The base elements 3 are designed in such a way that several base elements can be stacked together to form a multiple box and connected to one another, preferably by locking, so that between the bases or walls 4 of two adjacent round elements 3 a receptacle open on the side 6 is formed for a CD 2, which, after being inserted into this receptacle 9, protrudes with part of its outer edge from the recess 7 in such a way that this CD 2 can then easily be pushed out of the receptacle 9 again manually. The spacers 8 support each CD 2 in the relevant receptacle 9 on its circumference on both sides. 3a denotes a closure element which is designed similarly to a round element 3 with the base or wall 4, but does not have the edge 5 protruding over one side and the spacers 8 there. on the first basic element 3 of a box having several such basic elements, this first basic element also forms the receptacle 9.

The base elements 3 and the end element 3a are, for example, injection-molded parts made of plastic, with the spacers 8 being produced, for example, by gluing in corresponding strips or by flocking. Other materials, such as cardboard, are also suitable for producing the base elements 3 and the end element 3a.

Claims (8)

1. Box for storing disc-shaped data carriers, for example CDs, characterized by at least one base element ( 3 ) with a base and with an edge ( 5 ) protruding on at least one side of the base, which edge is interrupted in at least one partial area ( 6 , 7 ), and by means on the base element ( 3 ) for connecting it to a further base element ( 3 ) in such a way that a receptacle ( 9 ) for a CD is formed between the bases ( 4 ) of the two base elements ( 3 ), which is closed on the circumference by the edge ( 5 ) of at least one of the two base elements ( 3 ) except for the at least one edge interruption forming a CD insertion and removal opening ( 6 ). 2. Box according to claim 1, characterized in that on each base element ( 3 ) the edge ( 5 ) protrudes only over one side of the bottom ( 4 ). 3. Box according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the base ( 4 ) has a substantially square or rectangular cut. 4. Box according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the edge interruption is provided on a peripheral side of the base ( 4 ). 5. Box according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that on a peripheral side running perpendicular to the edge interruption, a further edge interruption is provided in the region of a trough-shaped recess ( 7 ) of the base ( 4 ). 6. Box according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by preferably strip-like spacers ( 8 ) at least on the side of the base ( 4 ) having the edge ( 5 ), preferably on both sides of the base ( 4 ). 7. Box according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by a lid-like closing element ( 3 a) for closing the first base element ( 3 ) on one side of the box ( 1 ). 8. Box according to one of the preceding claims, characterized by the production of at least one base element and at least one end element from plastic.
