Knife blocks of the usual design that are currently on the market have a glued or screwed block on a base plate, which after completion cannot be disassembled and reassembled by hand without causing damage.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem that commercially available blocks are difficult or impossible to clean after a certain period of use, since they cannot be easily dismantled by hand in order to clean the knife chambers 1 with normal household items. However, cleaning the knife chambers is highly recommended. Food remains, even if in small quantities, are inevitably brought into the chambers with a knife. For hygienic reasons, it is therefore urgently necessary to be able to clean the chambers.

The solution to the problem is achieved by the individual chambers for the knife holder consisting of similar individual elements. One element is firmly connected to the base board and serves as a support for the remaining plug-in individual elements. The individual components are plugged together in a form-fitting manner and then form a stable, compact knife block. The form-fitting connection is achieved by a dovetail profile or T-profile (Fig.1 and Fig.2).

The advantage of this design is that it can be dismantled by hand without tools, so that all the knife chambers are open and accessible for cleaning. It is just as easy to put the block back together. Despite the easy assembly by hand, the block is very stable and stable. The knives cannot slip out or tip over.

The two right-hand elements 2 and 3 can be easily closed with plates 4, so that chambers 5 are created for sharpening steels or the like.

Another advantage is that the block can be extended as required by adding additional elements on a wider base plate. Production is efficient using similar extruded profiles sold by the meter, with the required individual elements simply being cut to length.

A further embodiment of the invention is that different materials such as wood, metal, plastic or ceramic can be used. Other connection options, as described in claims 2 and 3, are also possible, such as a teardrop profile or oval profile. The length and width of the chambers can be adapted to the knife models as required. Knife chambers that wear out prematurely due to very sharp and heavy knives can be very easily replaced with new individual elements.

1. Detachable, washable knife block consisting of individual elements that can be disassembled and reassembled by hand without tools.
The knife block is characterized in that the individual elements can be positively connected or separated by milled, rolled or cast connections to form a stable block. 2.
