Die Erfindung betrifft eine zur Ausübung des Verfahrens nach Patent 198387 geeignete Vorrichtung. Dieselbe besteht aus einem nach unten sich allmählich verjüngenden, seitlich geschlossenen Turm, welcher lediglich an seinem unteren Ende Eintrittsöffnungen für die Trockenluft und an seinem oberen Ende eine Luftabzugsvorrichtung besitzt und außerdem am unteren Ende mit Entladevorrichtungen für die getrockneten Torfsoden versehen ist, die nahe dem oberen Ende des Turmes in diesen eingefüllt werden. Bei Benutzung dieser Einrichtung werden die von oben eingeführten Torfsoden dem Luftstrome selbsttätig entgegengeführt, indem sie infolge ihres Eigengewichtes in dem Maße allmählich im Turme nach unten sinken, als die getrockneten Torfsoden am unteren Ende entfernt werden. Ebenso erfolgt die Geschwindigkeitsabnahme des den Torfsoden von unten entgegengeführten Luftstromes in dem Turme selbsttätig. Denn in dem Maße, wie sich; der. Querschnitt des Turmes vergrößert, nimmt die Geschwindigkeit der am unteren engsten Teile des Turmes eingeführten Luft ab.
