Durch einen Ablaufkanal (2) im inneren des Kupferstückes (1) fließt geschmolzenes Lötzinn (3) auf ein zusammenzulötendes Werkstück.

Die Hebelmechanik (8, 9, 13, 14) besteht aus einem Gestänge, welches am Ende ein Transportmesser (9) besitzt.
Es hat die Funktion, bei Betätigung des Hebels (8) eine Vor­ wärtsbewegung in Richtung Kupferkopf (1) auszuführen.
Dabei greift das Messer (9) in die Oberschicht des Lötzinns (3) ein und transportiert es durch das Transportrohr (4) zum Kupferkopf (1).
