Description

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Aufsatzring aus PLLA (Poly-L-Lactid Acid), welcher auf den Rand von aus Kunststoff gefertigten Pfannenkomponenten von Hüftendoprothesen mit ebenfalls aus PLLA gefertigten Schrauben aufgesetzt wird.
Bei üblichen Pfannenkomponenten von Hüftendoprothesen, welche in den Beckenknochen (D) eingebaut werden, besteht die Gefahr, daß es zur Ausrenkung des Prothesenkopfes (E) aus der Pfanne (B) kommt. Der Luxationssicherungsring umfangt aber den Hüftkopf nachdem dieser in die Pfanne gesetzt wird durch die Fixierung mit den Schrauben und durch eine der Wölbung der jeweiligen Pfannenkomponente bzw. des Inlays folgende Rundung. Dadurch wird eine Ausrenkung verhindert. Der Prothesenkopf ist üblicherweise bei Hüftendoprothesen über den Prothesenschaft im Oberschenkelknochen (F) verankert. Andere aus einem Stück gefertigte Modelle von Pfannenkomponenten bzw. Inlays von Hüftpfannen haben zwar teilweise einen den Prothesenkopf umfangenden Rand (sogenannte Schnapppfannen), sind jedoch gerade dadurch wegen der ständigen Druckaufnahme bei Bewegungen deutlich lockerungsgefährdeter in ihrer Verankerung im Beckenknochen (D).
Durch das resorbierbare Material PLLA entfällt einerseits die Gefahr eines Materialversagens (Lockern/Bruch der Schrauben oder Abscheren des Pfannenringes durch häufige Anschläge des Prothesenkopfes an den Rand). Andererseits werden Ring und Befestigungsschrauben nach ca. 6 Wochen in flexibles körpereigenes Bindegewebe umgewandelt, wodurch auch langfristig ein Schutz gegen Ausrenkungen, z. B. bei Unfällen oder Stürzen gegeben ist.

Der Luxationssicherungsring (A) umfaßt einen 210-Grad Kreisausschnitt. Dadurch kann er je nach Wunsch und gefährdeter Ausrenkungsrichtung auf dem Rand einer Kunststoff- Pfannenkomponente (B) fixiert werden. Dazu trägt er vorgefertigte Bohrungen (G) zur Aufnahme von Kreuzschlitzschrauben (C) mit versenkbarem Schraubenkopf. Zu beiden Enden hin läuft der Ring sanft aus, damit keine Stufenbildung zum Rand der Kunststoffpfanne hin auftritt.
Der Luxationssicherungsring aus resorbierbarem PLLA stellt eine wesentliche Verbesserung der verfügbaren Pfannenkomponenten von Hüftendoprothesen dar, indem das Risiko für die typische Komplikation der Ausrenkung verringert wird. Die Resorbierbarkeit und Umwandlung in flexibles körpereigenes Bindegewebe führt auch zu einem langfristigen Schutz vor Ausrenkungen, ohne daß dabei Fremdmaterialien des Ringes im Körper verbleiben, die durch ihre Starrheit ansonsten durch ständige Beanspruchung versagen könnten.

Claims (4)

1. Luxationssicherungsring für aus Kunststoff gefertigte Pfannenkomponenten von Hüftendoprothesen bzw. von Inlays derselben, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Luxationssicherungsring (A) die jeweilige Pfannenrundung- und -wölbung fortsetzt und so den künstlichen Hüftkopf umfängt. Der Luxationssicherungsring wird mit Schrauben (C) auf der aus Kunststoff gefertigten Pfannenkomponenten (B) bzw. dem Inlay fixiert und trägt dafür entsprechende Bohrungen (G).
2. Luxationssicherungsring nach Patentanspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Luxationssicherungsring aus einem 210-Grad-Abschnitt besteht. Zu den Enden hin läuft der Ring schräg abfallend aus, so daß keine Stufenbildung zur Pfannenkomponente entsteht.
3. Luxationssicherungsring nach Patentanspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Luxationssicherungsring und Befestigungsschrauben aus PLLA (Poly- L-Lactid Acid) gefertigt sind, welche nach ca. 6 Wochen resorbiert und in Bindegewebe umgewandelt werden.
