Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a position measuring device according to the Preamble of claim 1.
A generic position measuring device is for example from the EP 0 289 033 B1 known. It is a measuring system at the one or more graduation tracks with alternately arranged, elec trically conductive and non-conductive areas are inductively scanned. The scanning element or the scanning unit used for this includes one or more excitation coils in the area of the sampled generate a homogeneous electromagnetic field. From Sensor windings are also provided on the key side as detector elements, which are also arranged in the homogeneous field of the excitation coils and to detect the electroma induced in the conductive sub-areas serve as fields. In this way, there will be a shift modulated, high-frequency signal generated, which in turn for Detection of the relative movement between the division track on the one hand and the scanning unit on the other hand. This is signal processing required u. a. a demodulation of this signal. Regarding the functi The principle of a position measuring device constructed in this way is also refer to EP 0 182 085 B1.
A measuring system constructed in this way proves to be advantageous stem that it is significantly less sensitive to certain vice Influencing is as for example optical measuring systems. Such Position measuring device is therefore suitable, for example, for detecting the Rotational movement of a drive shaft.
However, it turns out to be problematic that they are relatively sensitive to external interference is, for example, on the signal used act on lines. So with long cable lengths between the Posi tion measuring device and a downstream supply and / or Evaluation unit the position measurement values are falsified.
Die Signalverarbeitung innerhalb dieses Meßsystems erfordert jedoch andere Komponenten als bei der erfindungsgemäßen Posi tionsmeßeinrichtung, da die Signalerzeugung auf einem anderen Prinzip beruht.EP 0 490 685 B1 also describes a rotary measuring system knows that works on the resolver principle and corresponding Has excitation and detector windings. A facility for processing device of the detected signals is on the stator-side part of the measuring system arranged stems. The signal processing within this measuring system however, requires different components than the Posi according to the invention tion measuring device, since the signal generation on a different principle is based.
The object of the present invention is a generic positi to further develop onsmeßeinrichtung that they as unemp is sensitive to external interference, particularly on the one set connecting lines between the position measuring device and act on a downstream supply and / or evaluation unit. In addition, the entire buttocks are as compact as possible sition measuring device required, even in the event of a limited installation space to enable the appropriate measuring insert.
This object is achieved by a position measuring device with the Features in the characterizing part of claim 1.
Advantageous options for designing the Posi invention tion measuring device result from the in the dependent claims measures listed.
The measures according to the invention now ensure that both the oscillator signals, which act on the excitation elements as well as the high-frequency modulated over the sensor windings no longer wrote signals due to interfering influences to be faked. This is achieved on the one hand in that the generation of the oscillator signals directly on the part of the position measuring device done, d. H. the oscillator signals do not have to lead to the Positi onsmeßeinrichtung be transmitted. On the other hand, at least one Demodulation element directly in the position measuring device orders, so that also no transmission of the sensor windings detected, high-frequency modulated signals via cable is required. Both the excitation signal and the high-frequency modulated signal of the As a result, sensor windings are no longer connected via cables fed or removed from the position measuring device but immediately generated or processed in this bar.
It also proves to be particularly advantageous if at least one oscillator Element and at least one demodulation element immediately adjacent must be arranged in a housing of the position measuring device. With regard to the arrangement of these elements within the inventive ß position measuring device there are a number of possibilities. For example, these can be directly adjacent in an integrated form a support element of the scanning unit can be arranged as a discrete Components are arranged in the housing of the position measuring device etc.
Of course, the position measuring device according to the invention designed as both a rotary and a linear measuring system the. In addition, there are many variations, such as within the inventions position measuring device according to the invention not only a single increment valley track can be scanned in this way, but in one correspondingly modified measuring system several adjacent division Spu can be scanned in this way, etc.
In addition, there are opportunities for additional components Signal processing directly in the position according to the invention Arrange measuring device, such as interpolation elements Etc.
It also proves advantageous if such components are used as Ab identical elements are formed, which are used to eliminate different scanning Conditional errors are also immediately indicated in the position measuring device can be arranged.
Another advantage is that due to the inventive Measures in the evaluation downstream of the position measuring device the same evaluation circuits are used or used can, as they are also used for optical position measuring devices will.
Further advantages and details of the positions according to the invention measuring device result from the following description of Exemplary embodiments with reference to the accompanying figures.

Fig. 2 shows part of the processing channel of a wide ren, second embodiment of the position measuring device according to the Invention in a schematic block diagram representation.
Based on the schematic block diagram in Fig. 1, a first embodiment of the Positionmeßeinrich device 1 according to the invention will be described below.
In a suggested housing 17 of the position measuring device 1 , a stationary scanning unit 4 is arranged, with which a relative to this movable division carrier 2 is scanned for generating position-dependent, periodic output signals. The graduation carrier 2 has, in the illustrated embodiment, two graduation tracks 2.1 , 2.2 , which consist of alternately arranged, electrically conductive areas 18 and non-conductive areas 19 . The signals resulting from the scanning of the two division spurs 2.1 , 2.2 are further processed in this embodiment in two separate processing channels and fed to an evaluation unit 16 which, for. B. is formed as a control of a machine tool. One of the two graduation tracks 2.1 is used to generate an incremental signal, the other graduation track 2.2 provides an absolute signal with respect to the position of the two movable elements.
The position measuring device according to the invention can alternatively to Darge presented embodiment with only a single processing channel, d. H. it could basically just be the sampling a single incremental track may be provided; analog can of course more than two processing channels can also be provided.
Of course, the shape of the scanned part structures including the scanning unit is only to be understood as an example, ie both rotary embodiments of the position measuring device 1 according to the invention and linear measuring arrangements can be implemented; About the chosen form of representation is only to indicate who the that a relative movement between the scanning unit 4 and the Tei treatment carrier 2 is provided with one or more graduation marks 2.1 , 2.2 . With regard to rotary embodiments, reference is made to the applicant's German patent application No. 196 49 504.0. This patent application also describes the specific embodiment of an exemplary embodiment of the scanning unit 4 .
Geeignete Frequenzen des Oszillatorsignales liegen im Be reich 300-800 kHz.In the embodiment of the position measuring device 1 according to FIG. 1, the scanning unit 4 comprises an excitation element 7 , which is designed, for example, in the form of a suitably arranged conductor track and is fed by an oscillator element 9 with an oscillator signal. The Os zillatorelement can be formed approximately as a suitably dimensioned RC oscillator and provides, for example, a rectangular, high-frequency oscillator signal, which is supplied to the exciter element 7 via a driver stage 8 . Suitable frequencies of the oscillator signal are in the range 300-800 kHz.
In the position measuring device 1 according to the invention, it is now provided that the oscillator element 9 is arranged directly in the position measuring device 1 , instead of supplying an oscillator signal, for example, via the evaluation unit 16 from the outside, as was previously the case with generic position measuring devices. In this way, interference on the oscillator signal, which would have to be supplied via cable to the position measuring device, can be avoided. The required connections between the oscillator element 9 and the excitation elements 7 can be made relatively short, are arranged in the housing of the position measuring device and are consequently much less susceptible to possible external interference.
Preferably, the oscillator element 9 and the corresponding driver stage 8 is arranged directly in the housing 17 of the position measuring device 1 . There are various ways in which such an oscillator element 9 can be arranged in the housing 17 . For example, in addition to the arrangement of an oscillator element 9 designed as a discrete component, the integration of the oscillator element 9 on a carrier element 3 of the scanning unit 4 is also possible, which is indicated schematically in FIG. 1. In such an embodiment, the scanning unit 4 can accordingly be designed in the form of a printed circuit board which, in addition to the elements required directly for signal generation, also contains, among other things, the oscillator element 9 and possibly further components 14 .
Furthermore, a number of sensor windings 5.1 , 6.1 , 5.2 , 6.2 are arranged on the side of the scanning unit 4 , which are used to detect the electromagnetic fields generated in the conductive graduation areas 18 . It is provided by a corresponding relative arrangement of the different sensor windings 5.1 , 6.1 , 5.2 , 6.2 per scanned division track 2.1 , 2.2 on the output side to generate two high-frequency modulated signals which are 90 ° out of phase with one another. The envelope of these signals represents the scanning signal, which is used to determine the position. With regard to the design options for the sensor windings 5.1 , 6.1 , 5.2 , 6.2 , reference is also made to the German patent application No. 196 49 504.0 already mentioned.
The generated with a relative movement of graduation carrier 2 and scanning unit 4 , high-frequency modulated signals are supplied to the demodulation elements 11.1 , 11.2 in each of the two processing channels via intermediate amplifier elements 10.1 , 10.2 , via which a de-modulation of these signals takes place. The oscillator signal is also present as a reference signal at reference inputs 12.1 , 12.2 of the demodulation elements 11.1 , 11.2 . With regard to the resulting signal forms, which are generated via the sensor windings and are present after demodulation, reference is made here to EP 0 182 085 B1 already mentioned.
According to the invention it is provided in this connection that the demodu lation elements 11.1 , 11.2 also on the part of the position measuring device 1 or in the position measuring device 1 , instead of transmitting these signals via cable to the evaluation unit 16 and only demodulating them there. It is thus possible to assign the demodulation elements 11.1 , 11.2, for example, likewise in the housing 1 to the position measuring device 1 . In addition, with regard to the arrangement options for the demodulation elements 11.1 , 11.2, there are the same options as in the case of the oscillator element 9 . Thus, the demodulation elements 11.1 , 11.2 can be arranged as discrete components in the housing 17 , can be integrated on the carrier element 3 of the scanning unit 4 , etc. The demodulation elements 11.1 , 11.2 are preferably arranged immediately adjacent to one another in the position measuring device 1 according to the invention, for example adjacent to the carrier element 3 of the scanning unit 4 or as adjacently arranged components in the housing 17 etc.
The demodulation elements 11.1 , 11.2 in the two processing channels are each followed by further amplifier elements 13.1 , 13.2 which amplify the demodulated signals again before they are transmitted to the evaluation unit 16 via the connecting lines 15.1 , 15.2 . The amplifier elements 13.1 , 13.1 are arranged in the position measuring device 1 according to the invention, for example also in an integrated form on the carrier element 3 of the scanning unit 4 .
In Fig. 1 is further indicated schematically that on the Posi tion measuring device 1 of further components 14 for signal processing further processing can be arranged with which the demodulated and amplified signals can be processed. This can be about interpolation elements that allow a further electronic subdivision of the signal period to increase the measurement resolution. Furthermore, it is possible to arrange components 14 on the part of the position measuring device which convert the usually sinusoidal output signals into digitalized output signals which will then be transmitted to the evaluation unit. Furthermore, in principle, adjustment elements can be used as construction elements 14 , which are used to correct scanning-related errors, etc. These construction elements 14 can also be used, for. B. can be arranged in an integrated form on the carrier element 3 of the scanning unit 4 .
A part of a second embodiment of the position measuring device according to the invention, in which such alignment elements are arranged in a processing channel, is shown schematically in FIG. 2.
In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 are in the processing channel a total of four partial signals + 0 °, -0 °, + 90 °, -90 ° on the input side, which are generated by suitably designed sensor windings during the scanning of the Tei distribution structure. There are therefore two push-pull Teilsi signal pairs, which have a phase offset of 90 ° to each other. The two push-pull partial signals of a pair have a phase shift of 180 °. With regard to the design of the scanning unit or the sensor windings, reference is made to the German patent application No. 196 49 504.0. Via an amplifier element 20.1 , the partial signals + 0 °, -0 °, + 90 °, -90 ° reach the demodulation element 21.1 , at the reference inputs 22.1 , 22.2 of which the oscillator signal of the oscillator element 29 is in each case present as a reference signal. Of course, the illustration in FIG. 2 is only to be understood as an example, ie signals for each of the part signals + 0 °, -0 °, + 90 °, -90 ° can also be seen separately as demodulation elements. The demodulation element 21.1 is again followed by a further amplifier element 23.1 , which suitably amplifies the demodulated signals before they are transmitted to the downstream evaluation unit (not shown).
In this processing channel the position measurement according to the invention direction are, as already indicated, adjustment elements O1, O2, P and A arranged to correct various scanning-related Serve signal errors. Such signal errors can occur, for example due to non-ideal division structures, sensor windings etc. So it is possible to use the two adjustment elements O1, O2 the same to change the voltage component or offset in the partial signals if this is the case is required. The above-mentioned, ideal phase relationships between the partial signals and the partial signal pair defined. The comparison element A in turn he enables the defined change of the signal amplitudes in the partial signals len, so that it is ensured that the 90 ° phase-shifted output signals have the same amplitude if possible. In a possible out The different alignment elements O1, O2, P and A are in the form of a guide adjustable potentiometer.
The comparison of the various errors via the indicated comparison elements elements can be done after installing the position measuring device Furthermore, it is also possible to carry out a corresponding comparison automated during position measurement etc.
As already indicated above, these adjustment elements O1, O2, A and P as well as other components for signal processing for example in an integrated form directly on a carrier element Scanning unit can be arranged on the side of the position measuring device.
Overall, one results from the measures according to the invention Position measuring device that has a low susceptibility to interference flows, which the excitation or oscillator signal as well as Evaluation unit could falsify output signals transmitted. This is made possible by both the excitation signal being in the position measurement direction is generated as well as the processing of the detected signals, esp especially their demodulation takes place in the position measuring device.
