characterized in that one tar with a pitch concentration
of more than 90 % to a mixture of dolomite and magnesia clinker, kneading this material and at one
Temperature of about 250 to 200 0 C bakes, whereby one achieves a brick with excellent wear resistance and reduces the wear rate to a minimum.

A method for producing the above tar-bonded bricks generally consists of the following steps: dolomite clinker or dolomite clinker to which magnesia clinker is added to the correct particle size, mix and knead this mixture and shape this mixture under high pressure by heating and then burning at 300 to 400 ° C. In the above method, the quality of the dolomite clinker and the magnesia clinker and the mixing ratio of these materials have been well studied, and there have been few studies on the tar concentration during mixing, kneading and molding the clinker and about the temperature to fire the above brick. That is, in the case where the tar-bonded bricks are used in the converter, the reference point of the said brick properties is not clear, and in particular the most suitable requirements for the tar concentration and the firing temperature are not precisely defined.
The present invention is based on the discovery that the rate of wear and tear of tar-bonded doloinite-magnesite bricks is conditioned by the physical properties, as there are: permeability (porosity) and hot compressive strength of the brick, which are caused by two factors, namely the pitch concentration in the tar and the baking temperature.
Therefore, an object of the present invention, which on indicate the most appropriate method to minimize the rate of wear and tear.
Another object of the present invention is to / provide a method to control the permeability and the hot compressive strength, which is the most suitable method to reduce the rate of wear to a minimum.

Die vorliegende Erfindung wird genauer im Detail beschrieben unter Bezugnahme auf die Zeichnung, worinThe present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawing, wherein
Fig. 1 das Verhältnis zwischen der Permeabilität und der Abnutzungsrate von teergebundenen Dolamit-Magnesit-Ziegeln zeigt, Fig. 1 shows the relationship between the permeability and the wear rate of tar-bonded dolamite-magnesite bricks,
Fig. 2 das Verhältnis zwischen der Warmdruck^festigkeit und der Atnutzungsrate von teergebundenen Dolomit-Magnesit-Ziegeln zeigt, Fig. 2 shows the relationship between the hot pressure resistance and the rate of use of tar-bound dolomite-magnesite bricks,
Fig. 3 die Permeabilität gegen die Pechkonzentration und die Brenntemperatur erläutert und in Fig. 3 explains the permeability against the pitch concentration and the firing temperature and in
4 shows the hot compressive strength against the pitch concentration and the firing temperature.
The results of the ratios of the wear rate against other properties, such as permeability and cold compressive strength were determined on a real converter was lined with the same bricks and are shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2. According to the above-mentioned curves, it is clear that the wear rate decreases sharply as the permeability becomes smaller (Fig. 1) and the hot compressive strength becomes larger (Fig. 2). It follows that the permeability and the hot compressive strength have an essential relationship with the said wear rate.
Further studies to determine factors by which the above properties are determined were carried out in a further experiment. These results are shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.
Looking at FIGS. 3 and 4, it is clear that the permeability increases considerably the further the pitch concentration in the tar decreases below about 90% and the higher the firing temperature rises above about 250 ° C. (FIG. 3).

.On the other hand, the resistance to impressions decreases considerably, the further the pitch concentration drops below about 90% and the more the said temperature rises above about 250 ° C (Fig. 4). .
According to the above findings it is made clear that only the manufacturing factors mentioned, ie the pitch concentration in the tar of more than about 90 % and a firing temperature of less than about 25O ° C (preferably up to about 200 ° C) are necessary and sufficient to achieve the To improve wear resistance of tar bonded bricks. Other factors relating to DoIo-φ mit and magnesia clinker, such as purity, particle size, mixing ratio, amount of tar added, kneading and molding temperature and the like, have little influence on the wear resistance of said bricks.
The present invention is further illustrated by the following examples, in which the details are compared with known Procedure to be specified.
