Bei den Ausführungsformen gemäß Fig. 1 bis 4 sowie 7 und 8 ist die Frequenz der Relativbewegungen zwischen den miteinander zu ver­ schweißenden Band-Enden 31 und 32 im Gegensatz zu vorbekannten hoch­ frequenten Ultraschall-Erwärmungen relativ gering. Vorrichtung zum Verbinden der Enden von beim Abbinden von Gütern verwendeten Bändern od. dgl., beispielsweise von thermoplasti­ sches Material aufweisenden Bändern, mit einer als Auflage für die aufeinanderliegenden Enden der Bänder dienenden entfernbaren Platte und mit einem über der Platte bewegbaren und gegen die auf der Platte liegenden Enden der Bänder anstellbaren Kopf, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Hinterlege-Platte (3) zweiteilig (4, 5) ausgebildet ist und der Kopf (13) ein Drehkörper, der um seine Längsachse (14) hin- und herschwingbar gelagert ist, oder ein Druckstempel (36; 37) ist.1.
