Die in Frage kommenden Strangpreßwerkzeuge werden zur Herstellung von Metallprofilen, insbesondere von Aluminiumprofilen eingesetzt. Sie bestehen bei komplizierten und dünnwandigen Hohlprofilen im wesentlichen aus 2 scheibenförmigen Teilen, der Matrize (3) und dem Kernstück (4). Das Kernstück hat als formgebendes Teil einen Dorn, der in die Kontur der Maschine hineinragt (Brücken- oder Bügelwerkzeuge, siehe z. B. "Umformtechnik, Band 2" Hrsg. K.
