Abstract

The process and assembly for removing volatile contaminants from water, comprises introducing water into a pressure-resistant vessel to which a vacuum pump is linked and which generates and maintains a reduced pressure in the air in comparison with the ambient pressure. Under the influence of the reduced pressure, the volatile contaminants translate to a gaseous phase and are removed from the vessel by the vacuum pump. The cleaned water is removed from the vessel by a pump. Following their removal from the vessel, the gases are exposed to UV radiation or mixed with ozone. Alternatively, following their removal by the vacuum pump, the gases are compressed, liquefied and subjected to appropriate treatment.

Description

The invention relates to a method and a device for removal volatile contaminants from water.

Verfahren treffen sinngemäß auch hier zu.Previously known methods are essentially based on the use of the so-called. "Strip effect", in which the contaminated water is in as close contact as possible with is brought to a carrier gas. The contaminants enter the water from the Carrier gas over, which is then further processed in a suitable manner. disadvantage This process involves the large amounts of gas to be handled (usually The carrier gas volumes exceed the amounts of water to be treated multiple), the low concentration of contaminants in the carrier gas and a caused by the high oxygen input into the water Problems of stiffening. Other known methods bring the contaminated Water, e.g. T. by applying lower pressures, to boil, and use Water vapor as a carrier gas for pollutant discharge. The above Hit disadvantages also towards these procedures. Mixed forms are also known, in which a Carrier gas in contact with the contaminated water under reduced pressure brought; the disadvantages of the above Procedures apply here analogously.

The invention has for its object to develop a method that Purification of contaminated water without carrier gas for the pollutants coped. The goal was to find a contaminated on the input side of the process Water and purified water on the exit side and, if possible concentrated to have the removed pollutants.

The object is achieved by the method according to the invention in that the water to be treated is exposed to a reduced pressure in a pressure-resistant vessel ( 1 ), which causes the volatile contaminants to pass into the gas phase and bubble out of the water. The vacuum pump ( 2 ) connected to the pressure vessel, which maintains the desired pressure in the vessel, also removes the pollutants in the gas phase.

The cleaned water is removed from the pressure vessel by a pump ( 3 ). The extracted pollutants can be subjected to various post-treatments (e.g. adsorption, ozonation, UV treatment, drying, compression and subsequent disposal as a liquid that is highly concentrated on pollutants ( 4 and 5 ).

The various components of the system (pressure tank, vacuum pump, Water pump, control, water separator) can be spatially separated be arranged separately. This results in a high degree of flexibility in the structural design of the system. The individual components are relative small and can be arranged in a suitable arrangement even in confined spaces Conditions are used (e.g. in situ cleaning of groundwater).

Die Vorteile des Verfahrens sind insbesondere:The advantages of the method are in particular:

The removal of the pollutants from the water to be treated takes place in downstream form in view of the normally small Pollutant concentrations in the water (ppm to per mill range) drop on the downstream side apart from purified water, only small amounts of pollutants to be managed.
There is no oxygen in the water, so that Problems with constipation occur to a much lesser extent than before.
The small size of the components and their flexible arrangement enable the method to be used even in tight spaces.
