Daß dieses ResultatIn the last few years a number of patents have been issued for processes for obtaining Protein from a wide variety of raw materials of vegetable and animal origin granted. The typical feature of these processes is that they do not produce uniform protein bodies, but mixtures from protein bodies and nitrogenous substances. That this result
Es muß deshalb, um reines Eiweiß zu erzielen, ein Reinigungsverfahrenίο must be achieved, results from one critical consideration of all these processes by themselves: one gains from the starting materials, mostly mixed, worthless waste, the protein substances under the application of strong heat or pressure or strong Acids or alkalis and the like. More. However, protein bodies are also obtained as the end product, but with a completely destroyed internal structure, and if one also has a nitrogen content in the chemical analysis of about 15 to 16 percent, which, multiplied by a factor of 6.25, approximates 100 percent results, that's not pure, native protein in the modern sense Addressing views but represents a mixture of partially coagulated and partially decomposed protein and other proteins. A purification process must therefore be carried out in order to obtain pure protein
,So angewendet werden, welches beim Reinigen und Isolieren die innere Struktur des Eiweißkörpers nicht angreift, sondern durch gelinde Operationen nur die umgebenden Zellen lockert, aus ihnen die verunreinigendenSo what to apply when cleaning and isolating the internal structure of the protein body does not attack, but through mild surgery only loosens the surrounding cells, making the contaminating ones out of them
With the help of this One is now able to process the pure Edestin, that body, which to approximately 80 percent represents the protein body of cottonseed, in its pure state too isolate. That a pure, undecomposed protein body has completely different physiological effects causes during assimilation in the organism as coagulated and half-decomposed, probably does not need any special reference.
B. Aluminiumsulfat, Alaun, saures schwefelsaures Natron, ersetzen. The method is based on the peculiar observation that hydrochloric acid, in different Applied in a manner that allows quite opposite effects to be achieved. If you treat cotton seeds with diluted Hydrochloric acid and saline solution, this is how dyes and other impurities dissolve, but not the Edestin; then treated with 0.3 percent hydrochloric acid alone, see above the edestin dissolves and can be obtained in pure form from the solution. Instead of the hydrochloric acid-containing saline solution, other acidic salt solutions, e.g. B. Free sulfurous acid containing sodium bisulfite solution. Finally, the said Solvent for the minor components by solutions of acidic salts, e.g. B. aluminum sulfate, Replace alum, soda-acid sulfuric acid.
Bei dem ersten dieser beiden Verfahren werden die färbenden, riechendenAmong the patents issued so far, which deal with the extraction of protein from oil seeds deal, only two take into account the removal of the impurities at all. The first of these two Procedures are coloring, smelling
Nach dem heutigen Stand der Chemie der Eiweißkörper konnte man jedoch nicht voraussehen, daß sich die Salzsäure oder die anderen bezeichneten Verbindungen in ihrer Wirkung so eigenartig, and tasting substances of the oil seeds by washing with a non-dissolving egg white Acid, such as sulfuric acid, oxalic acid, nitric acid, removed, in the second case takes place the removal of these substances by treatment with solutions of hydroxides of the alkaline earths. From the latter Method differs from the present one by the nature of the cleaning agent used, with regard to the former, the difference is that firstly, instead of acids, acidic salts and secondly Protein-dissolving acids can be used in combination with salt solutions, in which a Dissolution of the minor components does not take place. So it can in the present case both the cleaning and the later dissolution and isolation of the proteins can be achieved with the same chemical substance (hydrochloric acid). According to the current state of chemistry the protein body could one cannot foresee, however, that hydrochloric acid or the other named compounds so peculiar in their effect,
H. in the one case it would dissolve the protein, in the other it would not dissolve. The procedure in its specific
The management is as follows: The cotton seeds or press cakes are made from cotton seeds z. B. with a hydrochloric acid-containing saline solution or a 5 to 10 percent aluminum sulfate solution Washed as long as one that turns yellow on the addition of alkali Solution is obtained. Depending on the nature of the cleaning agent used is washed with water for more or less long, then the edestin with o, 3 percent hydrochloric acid extracted and off the solution then carefully precipitated in a known manner.
