In der Patentschrift 158497 ist angegeben, daß die Brikettierung gasender Kohle nach dem dort beschriebenen Verfahren nur möglich ist, wenn diese Kohle vorher verkokt ist.
Die auf diese Weise erhaltenen Briketts brennen ohne Flammenentwicklung.
