Gegenstand der Erfindung ist - eine Vorrichtung zur Herstellung quer abschattierter Färbungen im Klotzwege auf Geweben, Ketten- und Papierbahnen. Bei der Verarbeitung der längs ombrierten Gewebe, d. h. solcher, bei denen die Farben gleichen Tones in der Längsrichtung der Gewebe verlaufen, z. B. auf Kleidungsstücke, ergeben sich des öfteren Schwierigkeiten. Auch wird die Farbenwirkung durch die in der Längsrichtung verlaufende Schattierung in einem ganz bestimmten Sinne, beeinflußt, wenn dieses Gewebe auf Kleidungsstücke verarbeitet wird. Völlig verschiedene Farbenwirkungen in den Kleidungsstücken treten auf, wenn die ombrierten Gewebebahnen die Linien gleichen Tones in der Querrichtung aufweisen. Die Ware wird in bekannter Weise zwisehen zwei Quetschwalzen α und U₁ hindurchgeführt. Deren Erhebungen c tauchen in lange, schmale Farbtröge d, die, auf einer Unterlage befestigt, mittels einer Drehvorrichtung (der Walze e und e_:) entsprechend der Bewegung der Walze b unter dieser vorbeigeführt werden, so daß jede Erhebung auf den nächstfolgenden Farbtrog trifft. Die Farbtröge ihrerseits werden aus Behältern f gespeist, die mit den Böden der Tröge, durch Schläuche verbunden, an einem Rad g beweglich angeordnet sind, und zwar oberhalb ihres Schwerpunktes, so daß sie sich bei Bewegen des Rades um seine Achse immer in horizontaler Lage befinden. Das Rad g, an dem die Vorratsbehälter befestigt sind, ist so angebracht, daß ein Teil desselben höher als das Niveau der ihnen entsprechenden Farbtrögchen, der andere Teil aber niederer als diese zu stehen kommt. Wird nun die Maschine in Gang gesetzt, so übertragen die Leisten der Walze aus den Farbtrögen die Lösungen auf die bombierte Walze, und diese wiederum bringt sie auf die Ware, auf welcher durch die Übertragung mittels der Umwicklung das Ineinanderfließen der Farblösungen und die Abschattierungen hervorgebracht werden.
