Die Nägel werden in bekannter Weise so bewegt, daß sie in der Nagelrinne α hintereinander zu liegen kommen. Die Nagelrinne ist, wie gewöhnlich, schräg gestellt und erfährt eine geeignete Rüttelbewegung. Am unteren Ende der Nagelrinne (Fig. 1) befindet sich der Regler, der aus einer zylindrischen Welle b besteht, die von Lagern c, c¹ (Fig. 2) getragen wird, welche an einer am Gestell der Maschine befestigten Platte d angebracht sind. Die Reglerwelle b ist drehbar und zu gleicher Zeit in der Richtung der Achse verschiebbar (Fig. 2 und 3). In der Nähe des einen ihrer Enden ist die Reglerwelle mit einer kreisförmigen Nut oder Rille e versehen, die, wenn die Welle b sich in ihrer hintersten Stellung befindet, vor der Mündung der Nagelrinne zu liegen kommt, so daß der vorderste Nagel von der Nagelrinne in die Rille e hinübergleiten kann, während die anderen Nägel zurückgehalten werden, weil die Rille e wegen ihrer geringen Tiefe stets nur einen Nagel auf einmal aufnehmen kann.The nails are moved in a known manner so that they come to lie one behind the other in the nail groove α.
