Derartige Fußmatten, insbesondere solche mit kleineren Abmessungen, rutschen jedoch sehr leicht auf dem Fußboden, weshalb sie meist an diesem befestigt, z. B. festgeklebt, werden müssen. Außerdem muß der Boden, auf welchem die Folien aufliegen, vollkommen eben sein, da Vorsprünge oder Fugen sich durch den Belag durchtreten. Aus diesem Grunde verwendet man meist dicke Kunststoffolien mit einer Stärke von 2-4 mm, die jedoch kostspielig sind, und man ist bestrebt, den Boden, auf welchen die Folie verlegt werden soll, möglichst eben zu machen.
