1
außen aufgelöteten Anschlußflansch. The innovation relates to a waveguide for very short electromagnetic waves with one on the waveguide end 1
externally soldered connection flange.
Waveguides are required, for example, in radio relay systems that work with centimeter waves. The waveguide is used here, among other things. for the electrical connection of the individual electrical assemblies such as the transmitter with the antenna. The requirement for separability of these connections is realized in that the waveguide is divided into individual sections and attached to the "H ohllei terflans ch" --'- »-'-, ----------
Separation points are connected to one another via connecting flanges. The fastening of these flanges to the individual waveguide ends is done in such a way that the flange is provided with a smooth opening on the inside. The soldering is completed by uniformly heating the waveguide end and the connecting flange to the melting temperature of the solder and introducing it. After the parts soldered together have cooled down, they are mechanically firmly connected. This method, which is very simple in itself, has a fundamental disadvantage, however, in that even with the most uniform heat supply to the waveguide end, the end face experiences an undefined deformation of the cross section. From an electrical point of view, this deformation acts as an extremely disturbing reflection point. A way out of this difficulty is apparently only for waveguides with a circular cross-section, on which the flange could be screwed on. This solution is also not very satisfactory for waveguides with a circular cross section, because changes in cross section are also unavoidable here. The object of the innovation is to show a way in which a simple solution to this problem is possible for waveguides of any cross section. This object is achieved in the case of a waveguide for very short electron magnetic waves with a connection flange soldered on the outside of the waveguide end, according to the innovation in such a way that the opening of the outer flange in cross section by the intended soldering gap width is selected larger than the waveguide outer cross section and with exactly Tooth-like inner stops corresponding to the nominal cross-section of the waveguide outside are provided, and that the waveguide, which is preferably slightly widened at the flange-side end, is pressed between the inner stops of the opening and is soldered to the connecting flange in the area of the opening.

Shafts shown, which carries a connecting flange 2 at its end. The flange 2 serves to connect to the flange 2 ', assumed to be of the same design, of a waveguide 1' to be connected to the waveguide 1. As is known, the electrical assembly takes place in such a way that the end faces of the flanges 2, 2 ′ are placed one on top of the other and pressed together by means of a releasable, non-positive connection, not shown in detail. To ensure a continuous internal cross-sectional transition at the connection point of the waveguides 1, 1 ', so-called centering pins are mostly used, which are arranged in the flanges 2, 2', but are omitted in FIG. 1 for reasons of clarity Figures 2 and 3 show in front view and longitudinal section

Before it is inserted into the flange 2, conductor 1 is widened slightly in the flange area, for example by means of a correspondingly designed dome, in such a way that the waveguide is pressed into the flange and thereby achieved the desired cross-section over the largest possible areas of the circumference. The hollow conductor widened in this way is pressed into the flange, expediently on a straightening plate, which results in the picture shown in FIG. 3 if one looks at the longitudinal section. After this assembly, the parts 1 and 2 are soldered to one another in a manner known per se, so that the entire arrangement has the longitudinal sectional view shown in FIG.

Die Höhe der Innenanschläge 3 bestimmt praktisch die Lötspaltbreite d.For the dimensioning of the distances between opposite and adjacent inner stops 3 as well as for their height d, compliance with the following rule has proven to be useful. shows the desired cross-section after soldering. By maintaining a certain minimum distance for the inner stops 3, corrugation of the waveguide walls is effectively prevented. Due to the bias of the waveguide walls towards the outside - by means of the slight expansion - the collapse of the cross section during the soldering process, which is so feared in the known methods, is effectively prevented. The height of the inner stops 3 practically determines the width of the soldering gap d.
