Der Zweck der Neuerung besteht darin, eine Herrenhose zu schaffen, die den Eindruck erweckt, als ob eine Weste getragen würde, ohne daß es tatsächlich der Fall ist. Die Neuerung besteht darin, daß die Herrenhose mit einem angeschnittenen Westenbund versehen ist. Dieser Westenbund soll dabei nach oben mit dem oberen Hosenrand abschließen und die Form des entsprechenden unteren Westenteiles haben. Durch diesen angeschnittenen Westenteil, der sich an den oberen Rand einer normal geschnitten Hose anschließt, werden die Mittel zum Verstellen der Weite des Hosenbundes vollkommen verdeckt. Außerdem wird dadurch die Öffnung der Uhrtasche abgedeckt und damit eine größere Sicherung für deren Inhalt geschaffen. Schließlich wird es durch diesen angeschnittenen Westenbund ermöglicht, die insbesondere in den südlicheren Ländern übliche halbe Weste wegzulassen, die ohne besondere Haltemittel nach oben versehen ist und dadurch leicht rutschen kann und außerdem als besonderes Kleidungsstück unnötige Umstände beim An-und Ausziehen bereitet.
