Description
The invention relates to a light setting arrangement with a cathode ray tube on which the in a buffer stored character information in the form of characters built up in lines and with a device for changing the point size by varying that shown Line length and line spacing.
Such a light setting arrangement is known from the magazine "Reprographie", 1966, No. 1, pp. 3 to 6. The characters are made up of parallel lines of certain lengths on the screen a cathode ray tube, with the information about the length of each line be taken from a character memory. Furthermore, according to this citation, the Change the size of the characters within certain limits by changing the length of the lines and their spacing changed accordingly. However, if the line spacing exceeds the line width, the line structure of the characters shown becomes annoying, and further enlargement of the characters is practical based on the same character information not possible anymore; rather, new memory information must be applied for larger characters based on a greater line density. For this new information, however, additional Storage space required.
The object of the invention is now to provide a light setting arrangement, which with the ίο same character information that for small characters can be used, also enables an even further enlargement of the character representations, without the line structure of the characters being annoyingly visible due to the larger line spacing will.
von J. Czec.i.
This object is achieved in a light setting arrangement of the above 3 mentioned type according to the invention in that are \ esigned for filling the spacing between the lines, an oscillator and a modulator which the deflection of the electron beam of the tube transverse to the direction of the lines, the oscillator oscillations with each Line spacing matched amplitude superimposed.
It is from the book "Oszillographen-Meßtechnik" by J. Czec.i. Edition 1959, pp. 302 to 304. known that the resolution of cathode ray tubes can be improved by improving the sharpness of the spots, that is to say by reducing the line width. Knowing this fact does not in any way solve the problem of the invention, since it only shows that the resolution of the representation changes with the point sharpness and a poorer point sharpness leads to a poorer resolution, while more modern tubes allow greater point sharpness and thus a have a higher resolution.
Bei der erfindungsgemäßen Strahlwobbelung wird durch die Anpassung der Wobbeiamplitude an denIn the beam wobble according to the invention, the adjustment of the wobble amplitude to the
Bei einer Vergrößerung des Linienabstandes wird auch die Amplitude der überlagerten Schwingungen entsprechend vergrößert, respective line spacing a filling of the distances between the lines achieved so that the Line structure disappears. When the line spacing is increased, the amplitude also becomes correspondingly increased superimposed vibrations,
so daß einerseits das Auftreten dunkler Grenzlinien zwischen den Zeichenlinien vermieden wird, andererseits aber auch nicht durch Überschneidung der Spitzenamplituden der Überlagerungsschwingungen wiederum helle Linien genaji in der Mitte zwischen den Zeichenlinien entstehen.so that on the one hand the occurrence of dark border lines between the character lines is avoided, on the other hand but also not due to the overlapping of the peak amplitudes of the superposition oscillations turn bright lines genaji in the middle between the drawing lines arise.
Es zeigtThe invention is shown below with reference to the Dar-. Positions of an embodiment explained in more detail. It shows

In the electronic lighting system 10 a compensation circuit 50 is therefore provided, which has an oscillator 52 with an amplitude modulator 54 is coupled, contains. One of the electronic data processing * and control system 40 delivered control signal, namely the point size information signal is also fed to the modulator 54 via the switch 43. The control signal specifies the dot sizes of the character to be generated and is a direct current preamble signal with a size corresponding to the respective point size. The amplitude modulator 54 can, for example a square modulator with an input-output characteristic 56 of the in F i g. 4 be the shape shown. A diode modulator meets this requirement. The one supplied by the modulator 54 The amplitude-modulated oscillation signal is transmitted via a driver amplifier 57 to an auxiliary horizontal plunger 59 supplied. The auxiliary deflection coil 59 is a low inductance coil on the order of magnitude of 1 microhenry. For this purpose, for example, a printed on a glass epoxy substrate can be used Use a six turn coil on each side of the neck of tube 12. Through the hiIFsh'irizontal deflection coil59 the horizontal deflection of the electron beam 14 caused by the main horizontal deflection coil 18 becomes an additional horizontal deflection superimposed.
Es verlaufen also für eine kleine Punktgröße die einzelnenIn order to generate 10 characters of small dot size with the electronic light setting system shown here, the potentiometer 36 and the switch. T 43 are set to the position P 1 . As a result, a control signal is supplied from the processing and control system 40 via the switch 43, which the modulator 54 to, for example, the point 60 of the input-output characteristic 56 in FIG. 4 preloads. With this bias to the operating point 60, the oscillation signal 63 is suppressed in the modulator 54, so that the auxiliary deflection coil 59 is not supplied with oscillations and the horizontal deflection of the electron beam 14 does not occur during the individual vertical deflections. The scanning spot 21 writes on the screen 24 of the tube 12 a straight track corresponding to the track 64 in FIG. 2b. So the individual ones run for a small point size

The individual scan lines therefore run in essentially two directions, and the gaps or Gaps between the character segments 30 are filled in, as shown in FIG. 3a. To this

Die Schwingfrequenz des Oszillators 52 ist so bemessen, daß sie ausreichend groß ist, um zu bewirken, daß der Abtastfleck 21 eine bei den aufeinandcrfolgenden Hin- und Herschwingungen sich überlappende Spur schreibt, um zu verhindern, daß weiße Flecken in einem Schwarzsegment auftreten.shape, which defines the spaces between benui.libarten Able to fill scan lines is generated. The oscillation frequency of the oscillator 52 is dimensioned so that it is sufficiently large to cause the scanning spot 21 to be one of the successive Back and forth overlapping track writes to prevent whiteness Spots appear in a black segment.
