Den Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung bildet eine auf dem Wagendach anzuordnende Lüftungsvorrichtung für Eisenbahnwagen o. dgl., welche dem Wageninnern frische Luft zuführen und gleichzeitig die schlechte, verbrauchte Luft abführen soll. Zum Schütze gegen das Eindringen von Regen, • Schnee usw. ist sie an ihrem oberen Ende mit einer Schutzkappe t versehen. Auf der Achse b befindet sich ferner noch dicht über der Verschlußkappe / der Bremsring h, welcher den Zweck hat, daß bei geschlossenem Luftzuführungskanal i gleichzeitig das Windrad d und die Achse b durch den Verschlußdeckel / gebremst wird. Das Schließen des Luftzuführungskanals i kann, wie aus der Zeichnung ersichtlich ist, mittels eines zweiarmigen Hebels η erfolgen, welcher in irgend einer Weise an der Decke an einem Halter 0 drehbar gelagert und durch einen Bügel k mit dem Verschlußdeckel / des Luftzuführungskanals i verbunden ist. Durch Ziehen an einem mit dem Hebel η verbundenen Riemen q o. dgl. und durch Festlegen des Hebels η in einer Sperrvorrichtung ρ kann die Durchtrittsöffnung für die Luft im Kanal i verschieden eingestellt werden. Um ein leichtes Drehen des Windrades zu erzielen, ist die Achse b in Kugellagern ev e.2 gelagert. Damit die durch die Öffnungen χ, χ des Mantels α mitgerissenen Staubteilchen nicht in das Wageninnere gelangen können, ist noch durch Einbau eines oben offenen, an den Seiten geschlossenen Innenzylinders f in dem Zylinder α ein Luftschacht geschaffen, in welchem sich die schweren Bestandteile der Luft, wie Staub o. dgl., niederschlagen.
