Der Ventilator saugt also einerseits den Staub durch das Rieselwerk und drückt andererseits mit seiner Abluft das nötige Wasser aus dem Behälter a auf das Rieselwerk durch das Rohr ρ, so daß eine innige Mischung des Staubes mit dem Rieselwasser erfolgt und das Ganze als schlammige Masse in den Behälter b abläuft.
